Fan Comics and a Question
May. 26th, 2011 03:37 amFirst off, some fan comics!

I was just comparing Superboy and Wonder Girl's romantic history and it seems like the Kid of Steel's been a bit more active than our mythical miss! We've got Gorgeous Gilly, the Late Tana Moon, Roxy and Dr Roquette, Lori Luthor, and, according to the internet, Tim and Simon. I left out Knockout because she never seriously dated him, to my knowledge. And then there was Batgirl, who I left out because I kinda forgot about her. Ditto for that DNAngel he had a fling with. There's probably more.
And honestly, I love Simon. It's like Lex Luthor and Jimmy Olsen got drunk and had a kid with both of their best qualities.
Couldn't think of anyone for Cassie, though. Seriously, outside of Superboy and that brief thing with Tim, has Cassie ever dated anyone else? My Wonder Woman and Young Justice collections are both a bit lacking. Fingers crossed on her and Solstice starting something, but DC probably isn't going to go that route with the two of them. Sadly.

Guy and Kyle have such a neat relationship. They're totally bros, which works really well. You don't get the feeling that Hal Jordan had the same sort of relationship with any of the other Green Lanterns that these two have with each other. Or, hell, with other Lanterns. (Poor Mogo...)
Guy's been dual-wielding red and pink rings recently. I kinda like the idea, but visually his combined costume is so...boring. It makes sense, given the way the rings work, but I think there are just so many more creative ways they could've worked with the costume.
Aaaaand I'm drawing dude-butts again. Something about this community just brings it out in me, I guess.

And now time for the question. This is from a page from my comic diary, but I felt like it set up the question well. When did you first realize that you were a hard-core comic fan? (If you are one.)
So, thanks for taking a look at my stuff. Again.

Date: 2011-05-26 04:42 pm (UTC)I was at a party, and they started joking about running my friend's truck on Mr. Fusion. I was standing at the end of the couch and tell them, "No, you can't run the engine on Mr. Fusion; it only powers the time circuits. The engine still runs on gasoline."
Cue the crickets and me looking around to realize that everyone in the room is staring at me.
That's when I knew I was a geek, and the comics were just a part of that nerdy knowledge. (In my defense, that's a pretty major point in the third BttF movie.)
That's okay though - I'm happy with my geekdom. ^_^
