Wolverine: Labour Activist
Jun. 8th, 2011 07:22 pm
Four scans from Wolverine #10 by Jason Aaron and Renato Guedes.
This issue is narrated by the geezer, and we get his backstory:

Wolverine defeats the thugs, and forces Pops to sit down with the old lady to discuss the union's demands.
Quoth the son: "It shamed him. Having to sit down at the bargaining table and hear all their demands. It took something out of him. I figure that's why he got so drunk."
He then bashes the lady over the head with the bottle, killing her.

Obviously, he doesn't take this advice.

Date: 2011-06-08 10:56 pm (UTC)The Highlander TV series did that once with the episode "Forgive Us Our Trespasses." In it, the Evil Immortal of the Week isn't that evil, and has a few justifiable reasons to hate Duncan.

Date: 2011-06-09 09:09 am (UTC)I wouldn't mind it if the person who wants to avenge the villain at least realized that the villain was, you know, bad, and still wanted to avenge him just because they loved him. That would be perfectly understandable. But that's almost never the case, the person almost always seems convinced that the villain did nothing wrong and they are outraged that he was made to pay the consequences of his actions.
"You killed the mass-murdering guy who was trying to kill you and the innocent people you care for! How could you!"
Screw you, geezer.
