I remember another instance during No Man's Land / Cataclysm where Bruce was talking to Lucius while on the job as Batman, but pretending to be cavorting in the tropics, so Barbara added background noise by pretending to be a girl he was rubbing suntan oil on.
As much as I thought the DCAU pairing was squicky, this would have been a funny reoccuring gag in the Bat-books. And maybe Mr. Gordon could inadvertently eavesdrop on one such call, causing wacky hijinks to ensue.
Yeah, I remember when reading Malibu comics I picked up after not having come in contact with some since I was a kid resulted in this realization. Oh god, it was awful...
Quickly! The only way to find out where the secret base is is to use my TELEPATHY, my power to READ MINDS, to read his mind and find out where the secret base is! Good thing my MUTANT POWER is TELEPATHY, the ability to read minds!
"One of the things I'm going to miss most about Barbara Gordon's career as Oracle after the reboot..."
Well, we're not losing it with the reboot. As a matter of fact, there have been MULTIPLE vague and extremely clear statements saying that Barbara's career as Oracle is intact, even thought two months from now she'll be swinging across the streets as Batgirl again.
Yes, but she will be too busy kicking things and walking to sit at a stationary location and answer the phones when one of the Bat-Family needs an alibi.

Uh...cell-phones? Super-duper communicators that the Bats probably use? I remember one issue of JLA where Batman was able to do the playboy act with Lucius while sparring with Wonder Woman and doing detective stuff with Oracle at the same time.
Besides--I read that as another "they're taking away Barbara's career as Oracle" thing.
You would seriously be on your mobile providing a phone sex alibi while you're busy punching and kicking villains? Good to know!
Besides--I read that as another "they're taking away Barbara's career as Oracle" thing.
No, I meant she wouldn't be able to do Oracle-type things running around as Batgirl. They're two separate jobs that require a completely different set of skills. :P
I was going to hold off on commenting on the posts until I was home from my vacation, but with the reminder of what we were losing, I can't stay silent that long.

It's not even a matter of Barbara as Oracle or not, they Bat-clan is going to lose a great avenue of support.
