I saw this on my reading page and thought it was this community till I realized it wasn't. This is apparently a statue found somewhere in Rome:






And for legality.

Well, I understand some of the finest schools for sculpting marble are in Italy, so maybe it's a student project.

I feel like the collective conciousness of S_D somehow physically manifested in Rome as that statue. That is the S_D entity. The cream lantern corps, representing the emotion of slash.

Finally there is a place in Rome for me to worship.

Someone seriously had a lot of disposable income to create this beauty. Def. one of the greatest gay mysteries of our time, that is until someone surfs google enough and finds the answer.

Where is the legality image from? It looks like it's taken from the Black Lantern Wonder Woman mini, but it's not the same art, I'm sure.

It may be my own preferences clouding my perceptions, but isn't that Dick's Batman symbol? (On the other hand, the belt's not right...)

Isn't Dick's symbol more or less the same (within the range of artistic style variants) as the one Bruce was wearing for a good while before his 'death'?

My area of expertise here on the Roman side of the thing (classics student studying propaganda for dissertation). The Batman statue is essentially a spoof of a famous pose (Roman woman on a couch), which could be closely aligned to Venus (Aphrodite), gods, as well as others (there are some very weird genuine statues out there). Venus, incidentally, was really the goddess of sex/lust and not love ;) making this even funnier to me.

This is also more authentically Roman than anyone would guess- Julius Caesar was totally a Dandy :D In the senate he was occasionally referred to as Queen of Bithynia by his enemies, due to a stay in the Kingdom in his youth.
