I've heard a rumour as to who might be playing the part of Amon, the main villain in the series and of the anti-bender group called the Equalists.

I have to admit first that I've only heard this in one place so far, so I can't say anything about its accuracy at this point...

But if it IS true then it means that a certain British actor who has played quite a few good villains, both live action and animation, might have snagged the role.
Want a clue?
For legality, here is a bit from the Avatar prequel manga called Zuko's Story. It was done as a tie-in to the movie, and as a result uses the character designs of Zuko and Iroh from there, but everyone and everything else is pretty much straight out of the series. It's a lot of fun, and if you were interested as to what Zuko was getting up to between getting kicked out of his father's kingdom and ending up at the South Pole looking for Aang, here it is!
It begins with Zuko searching the South Pole for the long lost Avatar, and then flashes back to his disfigurement.

Order fixed

Date: 2011-08-04 09:44 pm (UTC)And to think, in Arkham City you can do all that you could in AA, and more. Plus you start out with all your gadgets from AA, so you can do thinks like spray explosive gel on baddies mid-fight and detonate it later.
Re: "Oh great, another capering crusader."
Date: 2011-08-04 09:48 pm (UTC)im curious... im still only... maybe 5 hours into the game... maybe a bit more... can you project the explosive gel? i noticed there are some places out of reach....

Date: 2011-08-05 05:05 am (UTC)As for the out-of-reach destroyable walls, you later get an ungraded grapple gun that can yank down those walls. Though IIRC, with some of them you may reach from the other side and 'splode them. Not to spoil things.

Date: 2011-08-03 03:44 pm (UTC)They actually did use Curry's joker laugh in a later episode as the laugh of a robot clown in a park exhibit.

Date: 2011-08-03 03:49 pm (UTC)Never heard that any part of Curry's performance was used at all, I'd love to have heard his take on it, though I suspect that he would have gone for his more usual growling evil with a rumbling hell of a laugh, rather than Hamill's more mercurial madness.

Date: 2011-08-03 05:46 pm (UTC)I do know that at least part of Curry's performance was used in those two episodes, not any of his Joker, but his recordings done as walla and extras were still used, hence those two having him credited for "Additional Voices."
(Were those also the two episodes where the person they'd originally cast as Alfred voiced him, before he committed to something that left him unavailable and saw them pick Efrem Zimbalist to replace him?)

Pennywise was alright, though the wrong style for Amon... presumably.

Date: 2011-08-04 04:37 am (UTC)Curry on the new Avatar would be a good fit imo.
2 different examples come to my mind:
-Darkness in 'Legend' (a bit over the top for sure)
-Cardinal Richelieu in the '90s 'The Three Muskateers'

Seriously, when the arch-villain is named SKULLMASTER, it's hard to get more epic!metal than that.

Date: 2011-08-04 05:21 am (UTC)I do not approve. :| Admittedly, he was the best thing out of that blasted shit-fest, but if you're going to have the OTHER characters look like their original-versions, you should do the same with Iroh.

Date: 2011-12-06 01:06 pm (UTC)In all, the book is actually really good, the characters act generally more in line with their cartoon counterparts than the movie versions. Azula acts like tv Azula, Iroh acts like tv Iroh etc.
It does actually flesh out Zuko a little more, showing that when they intially kicked him out of the Fire Nation, he had such little pull as a result of being a banished prince that he was essentially homeless and unable to even leave the country as no sailors would take him due to the stigma he carried.
It has him meeting the inspiration for the Blue Spirit, builds on his relationship with both Iroh and Azula some more (it was her who pulled the strings to allow Iroh to accompany him, and Iroh's presence was what allowed Zuko to gain a ship and crew to go on his quest).
Tonally I guess it's actually somewhat like the Zhao of the Water Tribe webcomic, and builds on the world Avatar is based in some more, particularly in showing the Fire Nation etc. as actual cultures rather than Mostly Bad Guys and the like.
Definately worth a read in any case.
