I have to admit... Cluemaster always seemed like a third rate villain at best... but i will admit... what ever has Stephanie going "Holy God" in that last Panel is CREEPING ME THE FUCK OUT.... the shadowing in that last panel looks like... a blackmercy...?




Stephanie: Everything doesn't have to be about fear, there's room in our line of work for HOPE too.

damnit... i'm gonna miss this book, DON'T LOOK AT ME!

Miller says goodbye to Steph... i would have loved to have read the whole "Steph undercover in Prison" storyline.. :(

Of all the upcoming changes, I do believe this book will be my most missed. I haven't had this much fun with a book in years until Steph was given her own. So sad we only got 2 years out of it.

I'm going to miss this book dearly as well. Of all things lost to DCnU, this is the one I'll miss the most.
Still, I think that Cluemaster is a fitting villain to end this series with and I trust that Miller will make it a fantastic issue. You can feel the love that goes into this book when you read it and I suspect that Miller wouldn't want to approach his final issue with anything less than his A-game.

i still think Steph will be around. I HOPE she will still be around... if she is not Batgirl, okay, i loved her as Batgirl, but only because i loved what Bryan Q did with her character.

I'm looking forward to Gail's run... but i hope to god we do not have to sacrifice all the progress Steph has made, or the FINALY good place Cassandra is at to gain her....

I've heard that Didio has plans for her as Spoiler and Gail is hoping to use her in her Batgirl book. Brian Q Miller created a book made of sheer joy out of something I didn't expect to like, let alone love.

And forgive me, but I'm very much not looking forward to Gail's Batgirl. Partly because I've never understood the bizarre fascination with Gail Simone's work and mostly because it's sacrificing my favourite book for a character I've never particularly enjoyed and if it doesn't match up in quality, I'll consider it a waste.

i respect your baseless dislike of the Gail... (Im joking im joking, we all have favorite writers... im sure lefield has fans somewhere... what? .... to harsh?:)

although to be honest you cant really blame her for "sacrificing" Stephanie. i was going to happen one way or the other. Gail agreed, i think, because then she could preserve some of the work she placed in a character she loved. AND possibly save a couple of other characters.

it makes me warry if Didio has plans for Stephanie.... but yeah, if Gail is writing her (and rumordly Cass too) the at least there is the possibility that thier tenure's as Batgirls might still partially be intact.

It's not that I dislike Gail. I follow her on twitter and actually think very highly of her as a human being, it's just that I've never read anything by her which makes me react as positively as people say it makes them.

I'm not blaming Gail one bit for what's happening to Steph, it was an editorial mandate, one I disagree with but have to accept because I have no control over the powers that be. I do however wish that somebody chose to point out that Steph was an incredibly identifiable Batgirl who had simple but solid motivations and was a joy to read about.

Didio's plan for Steph makes me worry too, I seem to recall that he was never a fan of the character.

Well gail did say that she really grew to love steph as a character once Bryan started writing her. (she admited that she wasn't a fan beforehand, but Bryan's Writing turned her around) that is partially her motivation for wanting to use her too.

yeah i hope the Plans are not HIS plans... but some one who werestled her from the jaws of death. because seriously... Batgirl is the first Book series i have bought trades of in a VERY long time, even AFTER reading the individual issues!

I know that Steph grew on Gail after Bryan's writing blew everybody away, Gail was actually offered Steph's Batgirl book once and I'm very glad that she didn't take it up, simply because Bryan's run has been nothing short of astounding. It was never genrebusting or revolutionary to comics as an artform, but each month proved to be enjoyable and very fun.
I'm glad that Gail wants to use Steph again, but I can't help but feel that she'll show up scarcely like Cass did in Red Robin.

I hope that Didio's plan is to give Steph an ongoing book as Spoiler with Bryan Q. Miller at the helm with more beautiful covers by Dustin Nguyen.

one of the things i like about gail is that even her "supporting cast" gets frequently used. hell she maintained a several group books and explored each character fairly well.

THIS wouldbe my dream book... Miller did say in the above interview that he is wokring on a non- new 52 book for DC... I HOPE to GODS this is Spoiler... or Spoiler and Black Bat... Or Black Bat and Spoiler... Or Black Bat, Spoiler, and Supergirl.... god i'd read the Phone book if HE wrote it and it had Stephanie in it!

It depends on editorial though, I imagine that Gail will have created a supporting cast for Barbara who she can use freely, however if DC have plans for Cass and Steph, it's entirely possible that their uses will be limited.

My dream book would be Spoiler and Robin. Nothing makes me happier than Steph and Damian interacting with one another. I keep trying to write fanfiction about the two of them going on adventures, but I'm useless with plots, so I just try and get their voices right and write short interactions between the two of them.

its strange... i love her interection with Damian... BUT i don't know if I woul dbuy that book... maybe if it was written by Miller, but... i think what i love about thier interaction is that it is limited. what i WOULD love is for her to interact with other DCU characters. (i mean seriously, her interactions with EVERYONE is awesome, one mof my favorite issues was her appearance with Clarion "bum bum bum!" the Witchboy! :)

A book where Steph as Spoiler interacts with a wide range of characters would be great, so long as you could justify it, why Steph is moving around everywhere, or why everybody is coming to Gotham to hang out with a teenage girl.
I don't really care, so long as we get a book where Steph puts on a cape, is quippy and having a blast.

I'd largely keep it the same. I'd probably ditch the boots and gloves in favour of something sleeker. I wouldn't mind a domino mask either, it would work for her.
I might give her some sort of Bat logo, perhaps on one of her sleeves, just to show who she associates herself with.
I'd like her hair to be on show though, hanging loose if possible instead of being in a ponytail. Purple and gold work well together I think.

I'd suggest something that's between the old Spoiler costume and her Batgirl costume, minus the Batstuff. Maybe a domino mask with the hood, if that didn't make her look too much like one of the Arrows.

This is probably the third time in Steph's series much of anything has been made of her past before she became Batgirl, and naturally Cass isn't on the splash that shows everyone that's been in the series up until now.

Man, fuck DC's Silver Age fetish so hard!
