my money is on the idea that Scott lies injured somewhere in Utopia and storm (and Probably him through dreams) reminice on the past they had together, how they grew close and then grew into close friends. all while going while storm is either visiting him or visiting him AND on a mission.

Yeah--Whedon was fantastic. Ellis had some great ideas, but some of the art wasn't the best. Way and Cage...I just couldn't care less.

I...think I'm interested in Astonishing for the first time since Ellis left. I'm very surprised. I may have to keep an eye out on this.

Also, always love when mohawk Storm comes back. :D

And hopefully this means that the Storm/T'Challa marriage will freaking END already. God, now THAT'S a marriage that's ruining the characters.

Greg Pak: Storm doesn't really need anyone, does she? She's monumentally powerful, both in terms of sheer firepower and strength of character. But as our story begins, she's facing a challenge that only Cyclops can help her overcome. And it absolutely tears her apart—but not for the reasons you might think. There's a huge question at the core of this book about what it means to be a hero, and the answers will draw Ororo and Cyclops closer together than they've ever been.

Okay, maybe I'm over-reading this, but I'm thinking the set-up to what this cover suggests will go like this: that after what happens in Schism, Scott feels as though he's failed to live up to his own ideals, breaks things off with Emma, leaves Utopia and goes off into seclusion. Whatever Ororo has to solve, she first turns to T'Challa but he can't help her because he's too busy in New York, so she turns to Cyclops. Thus, you have two one-time leaders of the X-Men who now feel alone beginning to bond because of their shared history. One thing leads to another and let's just say Scott and Ororo better hope T'Challa doesn't find out.

hmm what i was thinking was that Cyclops is Injured. an is recovering. Either from a coma, or in a medically induced coma, or is bed ridden. Storm looks at Scott and see's that he literally gave his all for the mutants. Maybe she sees what he did, or what he sacrificed as heroic.
