Battle Kittens!
Aug. 10th, 2011 08:44 pmSome of you may know Rebecca Dart, but for those who don't she's a talented illustrator and animator who's worked on Mission Hill and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. I've been following her art blog for a while now, and as you'd expect I was overjoyed to find that she has an art book out.
But don't look for adorable ponies or cutie marks here, this book is full of grotesqueries, bloody violence and savagery, and creations that would make Big Daddy Roth say the future is in good hands.
There are also a couple of comics, and you know what that means!
The first is Drom the Squat (I'm not even gonna try to type that letter, I'm sorry). Two pages of six:

The story proceeds in amusing fashion, with the monster trying to find motivation for Drom to kill him, and Drom not having any of it. Good fun, with a bit of gross thrown in for good measure.
The other comic is less a narrative and more a song adaption, something Dart is no stranger to. This one's a bit more upbeat though, being her version of the classic Froggie Went A Courting.
Four pages out of sixteen:

Wanna see more? Then do what I did and get yourself a copy!
