Anyway, he gets it so often it's probably all "meh" to him now. And he DID love Herc, but in a bromance-y Adventure Companion way.

I liked Thunderstrike more in his miniseries. He was still a douche, but less of a caveman asshole.

And he wasn't likely to get into a "My gods can beat up your gods". He didn't worship the Asgardians. He developed a begrudging respect for Thor after he stopped blaming Thor for his father's death. But here he's placing "Mighty Asgard" up on some sort of pedestal.

Also the art is kind of horrible. The head of the Thunderstrike mace is bigger than Arana's waist. And X-23 has caveman face.

He's not so much putting the gods on a pedestal as he's going "My mace/hammer/weapon/thing is better than yours" and art's not..... THAT bad.......

But hopefully he'll go back to being the Thunderstrike you knew? It IS only a beginning.

Who's this Thunderstrike? The Thunderstrike I remember is Erik Masterson (I think) who palled around with Thor in the 1980s.

A few months ago, DeFalco and Frenz teamed up to reintroduce Eric's son Kevin in a five-issue Thunderstrike limited series. Kevin grew up into a teenager with a serious chip on his shoulder.

Eric's dead, but his mace resurfaced, and Steve Rogers reasons that since it appears to be inert, the right thing to do is to give it to Eric's son. It isn't as inert as it appears to be, though, and it soon allows Kevin to transform into the same version of Thor as his father could.

So, wait...Thunderstrike is a 13 year-old, now? And he somehow makes references to a film that was made 4 years before he was born? That's his first intended-to-be-derogatory Asian nickname? I think that reflects the writer and intended audience more than the actual character.

So this is like 4 Legacy characters and Amadeus Cho? Well, technically X-23 isn't a legacy character, I guess....borderline case, let's say. I assume there's some reason for all that.
