Here are three more pages from STORMWATCH 1. kirke_novak already posted a scene showing three members of the group's mission in Moscow to recruit Apollo. Now here's a bit from one of the other missions shown this issue, as Jenny Quantum and Stormwatch leader Adam One retrieve an alien artifact in the Himalayas.





It's a giant horn, as in the kind you blow. Lord only knows what it summons.

That's kind of fucked up. Wasn't Adam One that walk-on character in Millar's Wanted that was the R'as al-Ghul stand-in?

There was also an Adam-One who headed Wonderworld in Morrison's JLA. Also a walk-on.

Now there's an interesting connection. The way the threat's been set up in this issue reminded a lot of the World War Three arc.

It's a really common name among immortals. One of these days they should all get together and figure out who came up with the name first, and then the rest of the guys can be Adam Two, Three, so on.

That's Jenny Sparks; he's talking about Jenny Quantum, who's originally from Singapore, although (AFAIK) she's always been raised by the Authority. Who knows what her origin is now.

Somehow, in the beginning of the book, first read thru, I missed that it was Adam One that Engineer was talking to, so in this scene, I got all excited and thought it was Dr. Mist from the old global guardians. (hey, I saw Godiva in JLI, I thought it could happen!)

It's the Horn of Joramun! Wait, wrong book.

Hate to say it since I wish they'd let the Authority die already, but his does have the potential to be one of those great, wide-span action, cosmic stakes Super Hero books like in the Golden Age of the Morrison JLA.
Which is good since the actual has become such a boring, pointlessly meandering mess.
Dammit Cornell, why couldn't you just write that book instead of trying to get me interested in a title I kind of loathe, since you clearly know how it's done.
