Hooking up Lois and Barry is exactly the kind of thing the present regime WOULD do (since Iris and Lois are both reporters you know and the head Superman editor thinks Lois was just a "trophy wife" anyhow and now Barry is a swinging bachelor too just like NuClark).
I wish Jenny Quantum actually worked at DC. It seems they don't have a single dissenting person in their war/editing room to say "Hey, guys, I really don't think Amanda Waller should be a young hot thin chick like everyone else." or something of that sort.
