I am becoming more and more convinced Chris Nolan is a Julie Newmar fan. There's no way the costume similarity is a coincidence! At least her goggles can't be mistaken for a bra?? Also, are those titanium heels on her boots? Made for squasing bugs I presume?

At least it'll be interesting to see how she combats in those three inch heels in a live action flick...



And for legality, have some 1940s BatCat!

I sort of love that those goggles we saw her wearing on the batpod are the cat ears. I'm not in love with the costume (I don't hate it, by any means), but I love the practicality of it.

It's funny, because the first thing I noticed about the costume, even before the goggles, is that she's wearing heels. You would think a franchise that is trying to make Batman all realistic and practical would avoid that little bit.

Now I'm just wondering how Hathaway's going to pull off the acting for it...

she looks like she's about to break an ankle. the problem with wearing heels that high in my experience is that you've got to devote a certain amount of attention to where you put your feet and how you're doing it. the thinness of those heels makes me think they're too much effort. a thicker heel and i'd be completely behind them.

Calling it now, you're wrong. Pictures are weak to judge by, seeing as they are the completely opposite of moving imagery and sound, what defines a "movie."

It's rare that superhero movies even GET a third installment, even rarer that Christopher Nolan makes a bad film (you go ahead and name a categorically bad film he made; it's okay, I'll wait).

I like it, it's practical apart from the heels. BUT some of my female friends wear heels all the time and are more comfortable in them than flats. One of them had to run in flats once and had no idea what to do.
And, though it's unlikely, they my have her in heels to match Bale's height in close ups but then in flatter shoes when doing action stuff. Unlikely but possible.

Overall? I actually really like this costume; it's visually interesting without being over the top, and the goggle-ears are a brilliant idea. But those heels are confusing the hell out of me.

1) Are they to heighten her in closeup scenes?

2) Whether Catwoman's wearing them in fight scenes or not, why have them look metallic? Wouldn't that catch ANY light shining, attracting attention to a cat burglar? Why not have them metal for strength, but painted black?

I'm undecided on the goggles as ears: I like the idea but I need to see more to make a decision.

The heels look super fierce. But they're too impractical. That height would challenge a supermodel, let alone a superheroine.

More Catwalk than Catwoman

Does anybody get a sense of menace, quirkiness, unpredictability, danger, mystery, mischievousness, sexuality, or ANYTHING AT ALL from Anne as Catwoman in ANY of the photos or set videos so far? Me neither. I have a LOT of respect for Anne Hathaway. She may pull this off. But nothing I've seen indicates anything interesting is happening or with Bane for that matter. Remember how shocking and compelling the first images of Heath Ledger's Joker, and Aaron Eckhart's Two-face were? I've seen NOTHING yet that indicates that anyone did anything but phone this movie in. I know I'm bashing this on virtually nothing, but I think everyone here has been around the block enough to have developed intuition about these things. My expectations for this movie are very low now. Thoughts?
