As we are introduced to two of our team...
This goes as well as you might expect (Though one has to wonder whether someone with his speed would find the outcome an actual problem), but the DCU public appear to have imported a good deal of the tedious xenophobia of their competition.. seriously, this is a trope that's a MAJOR turn off for me, if I want ungrateful wretches of a population, I'll read Marvel thanks.
Meanwhile....
I'm not entirely sure WHAT Tim is wearing there, it's a rather odd tunic... jacket... singlet... "thing" for indoor wear. And the gloves seem a little formal too (Based on what we already knowit later becomes his flight costume, but is it something you'd just... wear?
On the plus side there is also confirmation of other young heroes (some of whom haven't been mentioned since the revamp) in the following spread, but I'll let you find that out for yourself.

Already in the preview there are a few things that bite at me--it seems like they're going a little too much into what made Impulse annoying as shit to read, and I thought the way Tim kinda blamed Bruce for what's happening didn't quite work. But, I hope that this iteration works out. :)

Given the levels of speed we're talking about here, he'd have the fireman out and on the ground before the backdraft would be a problem (or if he couldn't his speed wouldn't have caused so massive a backdraft in the first place), so they've had to painfully manufacture the cause of the outrage.

There's at least two that I'm quite happy about ^^ Though no real surprise- one's a classic and the other's in YJ.

Date: 2011-09-27 02:03 am (UTC)I am really intrigued by Tim working out of one of Lex's penthouses. I love when parallels are drawn between Tim and Lex - they're very much alike in some ways.
Really glad to see that Solstice may not have been erased by the reboot and I hope that's an indication that she'll be showing up later.
I am tentatively hopeful about this book. But then, I was hopeful about Red Hood last week, so we'll see how long it takes for my hopes to be crushed into tiny, tiny pieces.

I think I read something where there was a little discussion of comic characters' MBTI personality types suggesting they were either the same one or one letter different (of course, I only remember this because the potentially the same category, INTJ, is the one I think I fall into, which is frankly a little disturbing and such and soforth). But when, for example, I go trolling the 'net for fanfic set in an alternate universe where Lex isn't evil, I invariably find myself disappointed if he doesn't resemble and older and bald version of Tim.
And... crap. You know that saying where people can potentially be drawn to partners with similar personality traits as their parents? I may have just found a creep-tastic subconscious reason I ship Tim/Kon so much. (Make it go away? T_T)no subject
