I don't think it will wreck Diana as a character, but I think it's a bad idea. One of the interesting thing about Diana is that she's a female superhero born from a female world. I like her made of clay origin better than her being yet another child of Zeus.
I guess it's worth noting that I'm a male who happens to be a dad and who loves his own dad, and I have never had a problem identifying with Wonder Woman despite the fact that on a superficial level she has very little in common with me.
