Three scans from X-Men: Regenesis in which Emma explains her decision

I like How Emma basically lays it out. She loves to teach, and flat out says that for the most part, all they ever do is train. More importantly, she states that the difference between training and teaching is the important thing. She also lays it out that Scott has been taking her for granted, assuming she would automatically side with him, and not acknowledging that she has in fact given up alot to support him.

I hope that this means a)teaching will return to Utopia, b) Scott shapes up when it comes to his relationships

I must say, i am LOVING Cave Emma's outfit!

Keep in mind, aside from the kids and Scott, Emma loves Money, she is essentially giving up her fortune bankrolling Utopia.

I still don't get the whole caveman looking thing. What is going on?

From what I understand, it's basically an extended metaphor for what's going on between the X-Men.

Equal opportunity fan service? Least that's how I see it. We get Emma in a loin cloth. And Namor gets nothing because he's Namor he doesn't need puny surface world loin clothes. His cod piece is too perfect for that.

I gotta give ups to Emma and folks like Tony Stark.

No matter how you cut it, bankrolling a super-operation would be expensive!

Like, how the fuck do you get site, building and liability insurance for it?

In fact, that would make an awesome Marvel back-up: Rex Carter, Super-Accountant.

"No, Ms. Frost, damage that occurs outside of space and time is not covered."

...so, how many people did Emma just put out of work? I'm guessing at least a few thousand.

Also, the caveman metaphor is not getting less stupid.

I suppose that would depend on whether they're an actual company that does things and she shut it down (which I doubt - that's expensive!), or if she's just dissolving *her* holdings in that and other companies, meaning that someone bought them.

Also, the stupid caveman thing is really not helped by cave bras and cave sexy boots. Still, I would expect no less from Cave Emma.

So wait... Scott's really saying he has no idea how or what to teach kids, despite running a school and being a teacher at a school in only recent years?

Either the stuff he's been doing lately has gone to his head or he's that desperate to keep Emma around..

Also, for something this important to the X-Books, setting up the next few years of stories until either Scott or Logan get screwed over and have to go back to the other (complete with another genesis-themed idiotic title), why is the art so fucking rubbish? You can't put someone huge on your major game-changer? Or does the game change that often in the MU that it's not worth the bother?

i'm going to assume emma's cape is made out of polar bear fur to go with scott's grizzly (?) bear head piece. they're a threat to engendered species.

but god, emma is putting up with a lot. does anyone else in utopia have jobs? i read somewhere that nightcrawler used to serve as a super bankable cargo transporter. they still have pixie.

they just need a way to get some sort of economy going.

Nick has the bar. Dazzler has her Wednesday gig and Pixie is one of her backup dancers. Jean Paul does celebrity endorsements and Jeanne Marie is his agent.

Magneto gets money from engineering patents he's filed under aliases. I think Mad Jeff has a few patents out as well. Nemesis has been bankrolling his anti-Nazi operation somehow for decades.

Warren's got his corporation. Storm gets something from the Wakenda royal family. Namor has whatever Atlantis trades. Rogue inherited some money from her mothers (super-villains are better at saving money apparently).

I can't think of any more.

Rare moment for me

I rarely like Emma as person. Her backstory indicates she has no problem screwing with people's minds for personal gain and what she did to X-23 (who I like) made me want to drop by BHP Billiton with a large bag of diamonds, some of which resemble a human statue...
But regardless, this is one of the times I actually like her as a person. I can see why Scott loves her because of characterization like this, and that they canonly copulate like Leporids can't hurt.

For the past few years all Emma's been doing is playing the same role for Scott she played for Shaw back when we first met her in the 80s. I hope this means she gets back to playing an extended role again.

Minorly pleased that this a character I actually recognize as Emma Frost. :)

More than a little squicked about the underage girls in caveman lingerie.

Money doesn't quite equal power, but it's very very close. Money certainly represents freedom and independence.

Is anyone else confused by the designer cave-wear? I mean, check out the pink-haired fairy girl's outfit. How does something like that stay up without spandex? I tried on a swimsuit like that, once. They sort of need duct tape too. There's a continual sense of spillage.

Also, boots? With swimsuit-style fur? ...Admittedly, the booties look cute on Logan. But what sort of climate calls for leather boots and furkinis?

You know, from a fictional standpoint I would have liked it if she had joined Wolervine, but before going, revealed she is sacrificing her fortune to keep Utopia running/is willing to fund it openly because of her love for Scott like she does here, but having her leave would make it that much more poignant.

It's more dynamic. And would have made Scott I think have to do some heavy reflection he so needs.

She's too well trained by her upper class background to leave her fortune completely unattended like that.

Scott owes her more than backrubs.

Emma just not only chose, but won.

She essentially owns Utopia now. Her bat and ball, her rules. Not only can she, times infinity, play the "I own your ass" card with Scott, but she can claim the last word on every financial decision-- which essentially means every decision. Which at the least means nothing major happens on Utopia without her permission, and at most means she ends up as CEO of Utopia Inc.

Let Scott piss her off just once, and shit gets real.
