I don't think the art is bad, just that the writing is SO demented it manages to destabilise one's ability to process the story as a whole.

The writing is awful, but the art is so sketchy and smudgy. His linework used to be so clean in the '70s.

I think Neal Adams' art was already looking smudgy by the late 70s, so it shouln't come as a surprise for us.

As disappointing and bizarre as this is...it still is but a fraction of the disappointment I feel about Frank Miller.

That said...this is BATSHIT FUCKING INSANE.

But it's so insane, it's compelling, at least.
