You know, when I started scrolling down to the Crossover Fatal Five I thought to myself "They totally need to make Persuader a Gorn." AND THEY DID.

Also, who are Tharok and Mano supposed to be, my Star Trek Fu is weak and I recognize the others.

I suppose I should be grateful they didn't make Tharok half Borg.

They couldn't, the Borg are already established as Imperial enemies.

Tyr's Borg, probably. Tyraz is the Borg homeworld/mothership, in any case.

I'm pretty sure Mano's a Benzite. It's hard to tell with his face shadowed, but the general shape of the head is right, and he seems to have the ridge the Benzites have just above the mouth.

And the respirator, though, given the helmet, I'm not sure why he'd need that.

Quite explicitly not the mirror universe, actually. (This comes up multiple times in issues 2 and 3.) It's a universe created by some change in the past that prevented both the DCU and Star Trek universes from ever happening.

And then you could tie it all in by making the Q continuum from the 5th Dimension just like Mxyztplk and Bat-mite.

I kinda like for the preview of the page, they had the group fight in a few pages and panels. Like they were saying "Yeah, it's a crossover. They have to fight, here they are, Legion use their powers and the Enterprise crew use phaser. Brainy and SPock talk logic, and they get into a group hug."

Is this better than the X-Men/Star Trek crossover?

Depends on which one. The TOS/X-Men one was pretty darn good.

The art was certainly something to behold.

Oh, the art was horrible, but the writing was snappy, threw in some great character moments, and the plotting was fairly tight.

Well. The art was 'of the era.'

Still, a good comic worth reading.

Personally, I liked the second crossover (TNG/X-Men) better. The art was actually genuinely good, and the Worf/Logan interaction was just pure gold.

I liked the "Dr. McCoy?" moment where both Hank and Bones turn and respond at the same time.

I've always suspected that the potential for that panel was the only reason they made the whole mini-series.

Did we get to see Kitty and Wesley interacting? :)
