Before I head off to enjoy Christmas with my family, I thought I'd share some new images with my s_d family... and it being Christmas, it's Robin time! (As I've mentioned before, the European robin is a bird aassociated with winter and Christmas, not spring.
So first up this cute little sketch from Fred Hembeck, as Santa finds a new elf (He already has the shoes for it!)

"So let me get this straight; I still have to run around rooftops, but only once a year, no one will laugh at my outfit and no strange bad guys will want to tie me up and hold me prisoner?"
"Yup, now shut up and get in the sack"
Oh. and don't forget there's always time to pick up that last minute perfect present for your loved one.

Tim is probably fervently hoping he gets taken backed and swapped for store credit....
This is a recent pick up, a preliminary sketch for a possible (though ultimately unused) cover for Nightwing #4 by Eddy Barrows. I love not just the motion, but the blissfully happy smile which Dick has as he soars through the sky (Though whether that's due to proximity to Babs I leave to your own individual tastes!

And this last piece is my Christmas gift for this year from my too geneours friend, who really does spoil me ROTTEN!
Several years ago, DC produced a special lithograph highlighting the history of Robin. Complementing a reprinting of Dick Grayson swearing his oath of loyalty to justice and Batman were four new images of Robin though the ages, model shots from through the decades as it were.
Though each different picture was done in a different art styles highlghting four of the very different looks which Robin has had through the years (Dick Grayson by Kane/Finger (1940's) and Infantio (1960's) and Tim Drake by Jim Aparo and Tom Grummett (1990's) they were all pencilled and inked by the legend that is Jose-Luis Garcia-Lopez, who catches their looks splendidly.

Freaking awesome isn't it? :D
And just in case a legality scan is required, or even if it's not, I end with this weirdly disturbing cover to Batman #45
