This is actually only a fraction of the greatness that was Squirrel Girl in 2011. For the full tail, visit The Sketchcard Saloon at your earliest convenience.

And Happy New Year!

As we come to the close of the year 2011, one thing is certain. It was Squirrel Girl's best year ever. Marvel Comics has lifted their bushy-tailed bombshell into the firmament of comic book history. Doreen Green has arrived, big time.

She got her spot on the title page of New Avengers...

She got to star in Wolverine's sexual fantasies...

She got to appear in her first video game...

She got to explode into the bliss of onamonapoeia...

She got to get frisky with Daredevil...

She got to make faces in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man...

She got her own cover...

And she got to be revealed as the new host for the Phoenix Force...

We have been climbing trees for Squirrel Girl since her first appearance in 1991, and we never dreamed she would get this good in the official canon of the Marvel Universe. Endless love and thanks are pouring out for Axel Alonso, Brian Michael Bendis, Dan Slott, and Jason Aaron for writing such spectacular myths into the consciousness of humanity. We adore the exquisite artistic interpretations of Mike Deodato Jr, Daniel Acuna, Stefano Caselli, and Nar!

For us, 2011 was the best year ever in comic books, thanks to Squirrel Girl.

Wolverine is a masochist?

Kind of a cliched execution, but the implications... Mi piace.

Actually, that Spider-man comic is what completely unsold the character to me. If someone like Spider-man is agitated enough that they're "forgetting their indoor voice" while calling the superhero version of 911 then it might - y'know, just MIGHT - be that they have some urgent pressing business that they really need to talk to someone with /RIGHT NOW/ and might be more amenable to a refresher course in manners later when the emergency has passed.

Given that this particular comic IIRC ended up with Spidey nearly dead because none of the other Avengers got there in time I wonder why exactly Squirrel Girl didn't get a quadruple earful from every single senior avenger about priorities... But then I realize that the concept of taking something seriously isn't going to fit into her walnut-sized brain and go back to just not giving a damn about the character.

Well he should have just told her what was going on then.
Insted of reacting as if Deadpool ansered the phone.

Why was he insisting on talking to Wong?

Wasn't that the comic that all the Avengers showed up just moments later BECAUSE of Squirrel Girl?

The other day my dad wanted me to name at least 10 superheroes, I forget the reason why. Of them, I mentioned Squirrel Girl. The look on his face was hilarious.

As much as it still grates on me that most of these insist on giving her The Most Common Superpower (HELLO ARTISTS SHE'S LESS WELL ENDOWED THAN KITTY PRIDE HELLOOOOOO), they're mostly cute. Especially Dark Squirrel--as if she's not terrifying enough already, amirite?

Actually, I go with the GLA Misassembled redesigned bustline, where she's slightly bigger than Kitty; after all, she *is* almost four years older than she was when Steve Ditko drew her, so puberty might well have kicked in much more between 14 and 18...

That's actually more of what I meant, really. Closer to Kitty than to Kara Starr, at any rate.

I'd agree with that. Overall, Doreen should have the figure of an average 18-year-old who's active and fit.

An active and fit 18 year old can have a bust of pretty much any size.

Note the "average" there. I knew active and fit 18-year-olds in high school who had completely flat chests, and one who joked about being the perfect height to be an armrest with a built-in cupholder in front because she had G-cups.

But average, athletic girls around that age would tend towards B-cups.

But average, athletic girls around that age would tend towards B-cups.

I'm sceptical about your ability to guess cup size. 1. Cup size expresses a ratio, not a fixed amount, and 2. even experienced bra fitters can't usually guess just by looking.

Most people get my size wildly wrong when they to guess - because unless you know the band size all you can really say is "Biggish. Smallish. Whatever."

Well, for one thing, there's the data out there that the average American woman is somewhere in the range of B to C cups.

But maybe I made a mistake in saying that; what I basically meant was "Doreen should probably be just a little bit on the small side of average for a real person."

Though the person who originally posted the comment leading to this does have a point--Doreen should never be displaying Torpedo Tits unless she's stuffing her bra with the Squirrel Army as a surprise move...

Maybe the furry part of her costume there gives her the appearance of a bigger bust?
