I need input. Has anyone else felt like the Quentin in this title is just different to the original Quentin? Are these pages more like the old Quentin?

I think it's accurate at a basic level--punk-ass kid who wants to dismantle Xavier's (now Logan's) vision. I think the difference is that in Morrison's run it was less genuine, more of a mix of teenaged anger and fashion statement. Now he utterly believes that he needs to destroy everything.

See, I just don't get playing Quentin as the vaguely cute anti-hero. He instilled a bloody RIOT at Xaviers, with complete disregard for human (and some mutant) life. This wasn't an act of mild rebellion, it was an all out assault because he felt it was his destiny to do so (and few things are harder to shift than a sense of absolute entitlement)

And if you read the main book, the only reason he's at the school as opposed to the Vault is because Logan's pretty sure doing that would turn Quire into a full-on supervillain, rather than the teenage punk he currently is. (His actions during Schism weren't actually lethal, after all.) They don't need one more of those, so Logan's operating on the assumption that he can kick Quire's ass hard enough to turn the kid into, at the very least, less of a threat.

Well, to be fair, wasn't he under the effects of Kick at the time? Which means he was just a puppet for Sublime at the time.

In Morrison's NEW X-MEN run, Quentin started the riot since he was angry a mutant fashion designer had gotten killed by humans, even though it turned out he had died of a Kick overdose.

I'm not sure what Quentin wants to do now, especially considering the low, low number of mutants.

idk. i'm guessing it's because it's very wolverine and quentin centric, rather than school centric, and/or it was a special pitch by brian wood, and/or they're on a schedule with things to tick-off before avengers vs x-men.

Chuck Moss (aka Earthmover) was an okay guy with a Mohawk, though he did suffer from being such a minor character even by Alpha Flight standards he pretty much vanished after only 6 appearances.

I think I flip through these things just for the background panels of the kids. I'm going to pretend that's Precog back with Cess and Cipher.

I tend to assume that the NXM: Academy X kids are keeping their heads down and studying really hard while the lead characters of WatXM do their stupid stuff so that once one of them turns eighteen, they set themselves up as legal guardian for the others and they can get out of there. That's why they don't appear outside of background panels; they're studying for their GED outside of the curriculum so that they can go to college and get as far away from Wolverine and Cyclops as they can.

The one good thing about this comic is the glimmering distant prospect that someone will throw wuffles a beating.

The unfortunate reality is that actually there's no such prospect and wuffles will teach QQ 2: QQ Harder a bunch of cornpone lessons of the kind you learn by being Marvel's favoritest and most adorable mass murderer.
