B.P.R.D. in 2012 - it's all going to hell
Jan. 25th, 2012 06:59 amUnless anyone has forgotten, it's 2012, the last year before the final farewell (for those who believe in an upcoming end of days). And the team over at DarkHorse Comics is putting the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense through their paces.

Lot's of solicits from now til summer, but THIS has been building for some time now, and I am looking forward to the resolution of this conflict.
And as usual, in the BPRD universe, there is no reset button.
B.P.R.D. HELL ON EARTH: THE LONG DEATH #1
"A B.P.R.D. task force is assembled to solve a new series of disappearances in the deadly woods from New World. As the team works together to find the monster responsible, tensions arise over one another's loyalties!”
B.P.R.D. HELL ON EARTH: THE LONG DEATH #2
"Agent Johann Kraus, the ectoplasmic man, leads a special task force through monster-filled northwestern woods packed with mangled campers in order to hunt and kill the man he blames for the host body he lost in Killing Ground.”
B.P.R.D. HELL ON EARTH: THE LONG DEATH #3
"In a frozen camp full of slaughtered agents, two monstrous, long-running characters go head to head in a life-and-death battle!”
Were-Jaguar God vs. Wendigo!!!

That was a manly squee.
Delivered in a low baritone voice.
...
Naaaah, I'm squealing like a six-year old girl right now. One of the reasons I love Hellboy and BPRD is that the Mignola builds on his mythologies, seeing past plotlines as events with consequences, that grow stronger and more complicated, rather than an inconvenience that requires ret-conning to make room for the new Big Idea.
The fact that the world will remain scarred by these events reminds the reader that there is something truly at stake here, and creates actual tension and excitement. I... blame that tension for my outburst. Apologies. :|

Progression might not work with everyone, but the Big Two could really learn some lessons from him.
