Of course, one of the only other worse things that can happen to a superhero besides being captured by the bad guy, is when said bad guy happens to be your own nephew trying to get a hold of the family fortune!

Throw in some chains, some electrical shocks, some family drama and you've got...a dude in distress.





And then, Ted and Helena to the rescue!









And of course a hero triumph isn't complete without...

D'you know, I believe this comic is more or less a personal My First...? It's one of the first comic books I have really clear memories of reading. This and a Brave & Bold teamup with Swamp Thing where vines were overrunning Gotham, and maybe an old issue of Flash vs. Golden Glider.

Needless to say, I had a deep deep love of Helena Wayne from then on...

I don't know how exactly my own Helena Wayne love came to be since she was before my time, but I'm sure being the daughter of one of my favourite DCU OTPs had something to do with it, in addition to be a badass woman in general. Twenty-two years later that still hasn't, except for the costume.

On another note, I always loved that she was always the one rescuing the guys in her life rather than the other way around. ♥
