Oh Peege. I can't tell you how much it saddens me how underused you were on this book and your role here wasn't even a significant one.

I'm even more sad that I have to wait until May to get you on a regular book.

(Hopefully the make-up sex with Huntress in Tokyo will be better)

Wait, so is this implying that she's been using Michael to get to his quantum tunneling tech? That feels a little too shady for her.

The solicitation for Mister Terrific #8 pretty much implied she was just using him. Throw in the premise for Worlds' Finest and that pretty much confirms it.

This was the only appearance Karen actually made since Mister Terrific #2, so really, you didn't miss anything at all.

Ironically enough, Michael will get to Earth-2 before she does.

I saw that--I wonder if that means he'll be part of the cast there? It'll keep with DC's promise that all their cancelled characters will have roles elsewhere.

Plus, Robinson could probably write Michael WAY better.

It does seem shady for Power Girl to steal proprietary technology. But then again I suppose she can't go to her friend Michael and say:

"Hey Michael, can I borrow your proprietary, experimental, extremely expensive, quantum tunneling technology? I need it to travel to a parallel universe"

Also, Power Girl appears to be power-walking at superspeed (no pun intended). Unless that device in her hand is some kind of invisibility-phaseshifting-teleporting machine

Why not? He'd be one of the few to A) Understand the concept and B) Develop a means of validating her statements.

Hmmm. That's true enough. I guess I am taking a more cynical perspective. As in Mr Terrific would not allow it out of suspicion that Karen Starr might be trying to copy the technology for her own company.

Although if Mr Terrific is a true scientist (i.e. willing to test new ideas before dismissing them) and he has knowledge that parallel universes might/do exist he could validate Power Girl's claims somehow. I just thought that if I were in similar circumstances I might be more skeptical. There's my cynicism again. :P

Here's the really sad thing about this book--the plot, the characters, the ideas, they could have all worked really well and made for a super-entertaining comic. The problem was simply the bad execution by Wallace.

Oh, pretty much, yeah. I'd have nothing against a genuine gonzo-science comic with a character like Mister Terrific, nor would I actually have a problem with him having Power Girl as someone he has a casual sexual relationship with; As you say, it's in the execution. My issues with the Power Girl thing are well documented, so I'm not going to go over them again, but.. Yeah. The book simply wasn't well done on Wallace's behalf. I mean, the open crowing about Terrific being the world's third smartest man, for one. Who would brag about such a thing?
