I doubt that's within his power. In fact, since the thing is the energy-absorbing kind of vibranium, it might not be affected by magnetism at all.

I'd expected Namor and Dr. Strange to sit this squabble out, as they're now appearing together in Defenders. Would not enjoy being the leader responsible for battle srtategy against a team that includes the latter, Thor, and the Scarlet Witch.

Oh please, these are superheroes--they'll fight each other for almost any reason and yet they'll have each other over for coffee.

To be fair, the Defenders isn't so much a team as an argument that occasionally points in the same general direction.

Considering that Val and Franklin Richards (aka the most powerful mutant on Earth although the Cyclops X-Men don't seem to care about that) could take out both the X-Men and the Avengers and then still have time to make it back to the Baxter Building for dinner I have a hard time getting myself worked about this "event". Having entire series built on the premise of Superhero X vs Superhero Y gets old quick (and yes Civil War didn't work for me either).

Yeah, I was wondering.. the present and future Franklin Richards are on 616 Earth at the moment, and they just resurrected Galactus. The Phoenix is in their weight class, but against that combined might + every one else on Earth? Shouldn't be this big a deal.

Have we been told what Xavier is doing right now? Couldn't he with his top level telepathy end this fight at any time with just a thought? or couldn't Dr Strange with his Mephisto fighting power level be enough to magic them all to submission in a moment? Or even magneto...just threaten to crush all major cities under a giant sheet of metal if they dont respect Utopia's territory? Are these top tier people just fighting for the sport of it or is there a reason they aren't using their powers to their full potentials?

seems like it. there's absolutely no way anyone would be able to take stuff like a black widow x magik fight seriously otherwise.

i feel like a lot of avx fights are like sending michael phelps to fight namor.

As far as I'm concerned the Professor's watching from a safe distance, sipping a cocktail and running a book- the odds are looking good for Cyclops and cronies, but he's going to see if he can convince Magneto to take a dive.

Wow, this is very substandard Simonson. Needs more angularity. And it's particularly disappointing because he did some really good work on LSH recently, so he does still have it in him.
