From Batman 101 in 1956 comes "The Vanished Batman"

Sadly, it's only seven and a half pages long, so it's not possible show the whole story, but this is how it starts...





See, even when he's lost Batman, he keeps on going as a one-12-year-old crime fighting wave!! (He even decked out new wheels and an R signal... oh, and his own PLANE!)



I won't spoil the end, but let's just say it's not quite as downbeat as I'm sure you were all 100% convinced it would be! (Though sadly Dick didn't apparently get to keep his snazzy car and plane... I bet THAT rankled)

.... am i the onlyone that notices that while the batmobile can be seen as a pretty phallic symbol... the Robin mobile... ummm has a hole....

One, I LOVE Williams, this paper only reminded me of that. Love Street Car, and so far I love this version of Cat (had to pause as I am at dinner now lol). My bad on the Liz version. When I Think Liz Taylor I think Richard Burton lol.

I just assumed it's a trick- Batman needs to lie low to draw someone out, and Robin does a good job in his absence.
