Oh yeah, and the top cover is by the artist of Menage a 3 and the bottom one is by the artist of Chester 5000. So now that group that tried to boycott Archie for having a gay character in it can complain about having artists from pornish webcomics in it. Oh well...

Bah, I'm old enough to remember the live action tv show, so her being a part of the Archieverse is kind of bemusing to me. It amused me that it kept the title, even though the series continued well into the character's early twenties (into college and her early job).

And doing really well IMO! These what-if and imaginary stories are really fun (right now there's also a fun one where Archie looks like he's going to marry Valerie from Josie and the Pussycats), plus Kevin Keller's been a huge success.

Both those covers are penciled by Giz - you can see her signature on both, and her style is actually pretty distinctive. (Oh, good goddess, Betty looks like Didi in that second one... Only, you know, not so...uh...Didi-ish...)

Also, she didn't just do the covers, she drew the story. From the linked article:

(Odd that it keeps calling her simply Gisele...on her own comics, she either goes by her full name (Gisele Legace), or the short form, Giz.)

Rereading the article - I don't think Jess Fink has anything to do with this issue, aside from 63ing the Archie Cast for that CA valentine's thing, and both she and Giz doing rather dirty comics. I think the CA article bringing that up was just a confusingly poor choice.

Fair dos to them finally being a bit more like real life, I'd just prefer it if they didn't feel the need to announce each new step they're taking.

Kind of like with Buffy, when they dealt with the hotbutton issue of robot abortions.

Also Fem!Archie is really cute too, which is a weird experience, because I've always thought regular Archie was kind of ugly.

I think you mean Reggie. 'Ronnie' is a nickname for Veronica herself. Veronica has never dated herself. (Well, there was that time she made a Beatles reference, and everybody looked at her funny, so she had to do another memory charm the next time she had to do her age-defying virgin sacrifice.)
