You can catch the rest of the preview here. Nicola Scott's art is delish as always, though, Robinson's dialogue couldn't get anymore cliche than these three pages. In fact, I think I just read every cliche imaginable on just one page alone. :/

Well damn.

While I have still no interest at all in any DC titles, I thought it'd be great if DC was actually gonna play with the alternate earth concept a little bit more than "batman has a daughter who is robin" (meaning i was hoping bats was gonna be Dick).

Like shit at this point, what is so fundamentally different about E-2 again?

E2 Bruce and Selina were always Helena's parents since the time she was conceived as a character in 1977. I didn't honestly see any point in changing that aspect of the character's history.

I do have to agree though that the current premise for this new Earth-2 isn't anything remotely different than what's going on on the main DCU Earth. The original Earth-2 from the pre-Crisis continuity aged their heroes, allowed them to semi-retire, marry, have children who GREW to adulthood, and overall moved on to other things in their lives. Meanwhile the kids took over the superheroics. THAT was something different. This that they're doing with the current Earth-2? Nothing remotely new, fresh, or original to say the least.

But there ARE fundamental differences if, for example, Bruce and Selina got together and had a kid who became Robin. (Completely alters or negates Earth 2 Dick Grayson right there.) Plus, there's the whole separate Earth thing which allows for more creativity, without the writers being tied to the continuity of a shared universe.
The ONLY downside I see is the WF comic being set on Earth 1.

How the hell does Superman go from angsting about dead Lois and the destruction of Metropolis to "Wonder Woman is sensational!" exactly? Kind of ruins the vibe there.

Given his own emotional uncertainty, I think he's finding her focus, amidst her own loss, to be what is sensational. In essence, she's inspiring HIM.

You know..i find it completely stupid how they even tried to make it mystery by saying it's "a Wayne" under the cowl. Just say Bruce! Ok?! Do not make such stupid ass attempts at mystery when it's obvious! I don't give a fuck, I'm mad right now because it's just..painfully..fucking..stupid!

That's what I've been saying from the get-go. It's just like the time they tried to make Huntress a mysterious character by having us guess whether or not she was Wayne or Bertinelli, even though the end of Huntress #1 blatantly stated she was "the daughter of Batman and Catwoman of Earth-2" without outright confirming she was Helena Wayne.

I honestly think it would have been far more productive if they had just said this was E2 Bruce and Helena Wayne since the start of the reboot. I fail to see how this was even supposed to be a great marketing strategy.
