Yeah, I know that Artemis Crock was a character in the previous DCU, but this version seems to be based more on her Young Justice incarnation. It's just weird that to me that, looking back since the start of the tv show, I actually prefer it there in Earth 16 to the current goings on in Earth 1, barring the Batman stuff.

At least in YJ they don't have the restrictions to what characters they can and can't use now...

It's possible, that was my first assumption as well, but someone pointed that that between her really long pony-tail and choice of weapon, it could be the Amazon Artemis too.

Wouldn't her age, strength and skill point to Artemis Crock? Amazon Artemis is older (Well, older than this I'd have said), stronger and easily a match for Tim in combat.

also the fact that her color scheme is Artemis Crock

....Hunger Games meets Tron?

Man, I wish we still allowed to talk about Young Justice. There's so much stuff going on I'd like to see the community's opinions on.

Motto. DCAU is for legacy fans, and Nu52 (or as I call it, IC92+20 -- Image Comics 1992 Plus 20) is for folks who never read DC comics before. At least that's the impression I get from current WB Marketing DC Editorial.

Well, those don't look like Black Lightning's kids. I guess one of the brothers from the Perez/Wolfman run got a gender swap?

Which would mean that all three of them are half-Vietnamese, oddly enough.

Am I the only one who's tired of this over-designed crap? I look at this and compare with, say, Young Justice. The costumes there are simple, say everything needed to say, but still make the characters look unique and dynamic.

This stuff is just bad 90's. The vast majority of the NuDC stuff is over-designed.

In fairness, these aren't the heroes costumes, there are the outfits that Harvest puts all his combatants in before they fight.

It's more a comment on Artemis than the other two. I mean...blue paint lines?

Somebody tell me Kid Flash's normal costume is NOT overdesigned.

The JLA costumes aren't too bad though- Martian Manhunter in particular has an awesome redesign.

Blue paint lines. Someone roll out the African drums and hire barbarians to go "AAARRRGGHHH!"

Daniel Bryan, pro wrestler. That's his new and soon-to-be-annoying catchphrase, ala "What" by Steve Austin.

also i don't know why, but i was kinda excited that they made her pre-med :D

As a Godzilla fan, I have no right to judge anyone for liking anything.

I disagree wholeheartedly, but even if I think its bad, that's no reason to stop liking it.

Kind of odd that if they were going to introduce her, they wouldn't make her Titans-age. "Pre-med" probably means she's a bit too old.

But still, :DDDDDD Now all we need is Kaldur and Wally.

Hey, remember my epic little rants on "America's Got Powers"?

Just copy paste most of it here. This is only slightly less stupid as there's a slightly larger population to draw on.

God damn hunger games knockoffs--and even that one didn't get the gladiator games logistics right.

the taking of youths and setting them against each other in battle royal goes as far back as greek myth.... and really, this series has been in production before hunger games became a hit.....

Artemis, no! What have they done to you?? Don't get me wrong, I love the Young Justice cartoon like nobody's business, it's the best cartoon on the air right now and probably as close to a continuation to JLU as we're ever going to get, but the original pre-reboot Artmis aka Tigress is one of my favorite minor characters, her personality and relationship to Icicle brought something really unique and interesting to the DCU and even if they decide to introduce elements from that back into canon, the character up there just doesn't feel like her.

Korra's a good show, but I have a few issues with it, so that when push comes to shove, I prefer Young Justice. Part of that is also that I prefer the DCU over the Avatarverse overall.

I've been meaning to do a post on them for forever, but I can't for the life of me find the relevant issues in my collection and there's next to no acceptable substitutes online.

Either way, as espanolbot suggested, they're Legacy super-villains who met fighting the JSA, just like their parents did. They had an on again off again thing until Icicle won Tigress over by risking everything to save fellow villain/substitute father The Wizard. They had a daughter together most recently (who I guess Is also a casualty of the reboot now.. *sadface*).
What I particularly liked about them is that Artemis is a consummate professional who's a successful mercenary outside of super-villainy while Icicle is kind of a clueless, but lovable dork.

I loved the Icicle Jr./Tigress(Artemis) relationship in the old JSA. And their 2nd gen super villain relationship reflected (purposely in their team-up I think) the relationship between 2nd generation marrieds Hourman/Rick and Jessie Quick (yet more casualties of the reboot - I was hoping we'd see a 3rd gen super baby).

Maybe the Young Justice people will still do it with the new 5 year jump (I doubt Artemis is Wally's GF 5 years on). And I agree the YJ universe is more palatable than the new DCU. Maybe they should make Greg Weisman the new Editor-in-chief.

I remember when the reboot began Geoff Johns at a con being asked if Artemis Crock (YJ version) would should up and he flat out said "No". I still think they are doing this reboot by the seat of their parents (hence what was clearly IMO Helena Bertinelli was turned into Helena Wayne at some point post-reboot).

Lobdell aside, Booth's art turns me off (I know a lot of people like it though). Its so 90s and "busy" for lack of a word. Some of it is pretty and some of it (such as new Omen) is downright ugly.
