Like most demigods, probably because he has delusions of grandeur in that NOTHING can touch him. He didn't even consider something like that happening.

Or, IDK, maybe he didn't feel it? You'd think the "smartest man alive" would find ways around that.

Considering Hell in most superhero universes. That would probably be a bad idea. Plutonian would tank his way through billions of demons until he got to some Satan equivalent who's head he'd rip off before leading the rest to raze the rest of the universe.

I do remember that bullet from an earlier story.

When burned, the magic wax makes anyone in its presence mortal. It is imbedded with threads of flammable titanium to give the bullet it's shape and strength, and will ignite upon ignition.

the bullet was used much earlier in the series in an attempt to kill Tony. Qubit used one of his portals to divert it and kill a different bad guy and hid the bullet afterward.
