I guess that answers the whole "why didn't he go for the vital organs" question. I'm glad Tim's not dead, and it seems like this is gonna lead up to him either having an important role or him getting f*cked over. Or both.

Meanwhile, they continue to emphasize Iron Man death. Hm.

.... being stab isn't very pleasant... not to mention the psychological from the injuries as well been done by the person who you love... much less the face you feel in love with was fake...

I just did my First Aid certification yesterday so I'm sitting here going "Um, blood loss will kill you just fine on its own".

I kind of expected him to just bleed to death, what with Spymaster's overkill stab frenzy

Yeah, I'd think anything more than a slow seepage would be lethal if the attack leaves the person unconscious and unable to staunch the bleeding for a long time. Say, the amount of time it takes to clean out an entire apartment of all identifying information.

But then it's Spymaster. He probably strategically fixed the apartment to make sure it was easy to get rid of info when the time came, and even more, how did Tim get rescued? I'm betting big bucks that (since the landlord was dead), Spymaster called 911 right after the burn process, and rescue got there fast enough to save Tim.

Probably wasn't his own apartment, but an empty one that Spymaster had ready, that way there are no links to the tenant.

Exactly.
I'm kind of torn between "I'm glad he didn't die" and "I can't believe that ass actually let him go through all that pain and NOT give him a swift, painless death like he promised" etc.

I don't think the love was fake, either, or the kill would have been impersonal, and it would have been a successful kill. Then again, some forms of love or the people who bear it are extremely twisted, so we can file it under that.

Dtto on the point of not being impersonal at all (I reserve judgment on love or not, haven't been following this and I tend to think love isn't compatible with such a cold blood murder at all), stab wounds and such an extreme overkill are always personal. ;/

Wow, he lost about a hundred pints of blood? Does the doctor wonder why he had so much more blood than a normal person in him?

I don't think that's the real doctor. I think it's Spymaster checking in on him.

I read it as exaggeration, but you can lose more blood than you have in your body as they pump it back into you while trying to close up the leaks! Though the most I've known anyone to go through was 11 litres, almost 3 times what's in an average-sized human body.

Why didn't Spymaster just, I dunno, knock him out if he didn't want to kill him?

I'm assuming so his "partners" won't question his loyalties.

Questioning Spymasters loyalties sounds like signing your own death warrant anyway.

But Spymaster has a bomb inside him planted by the Mandarin, so any question of his loyalties at all may mean BOOM goes the dynamite.

I do not see them reconciling after this. The aftermath and trauma are on Scarlet Witch and Vision levels.

I can't imagine them interacting at all... except with a gun in Tim's hand, idk.

But stranger things have happened in comics. I twisted part of me wants them to reconcile. We rarely see a gay villain-civilian love angle presented in comics.

I want that too. I want it real bad. But at the same time, I want Tim to really go over everything Spymaster did wrong to him before that can happen.

Although the optimistic side of me imagines Tim visiting him in the prison-that-never-seems-to-have-death-sentences or Spymaster (Pim? Sinclair? IDK what to call him now) contacting him somehow.

And even funnier, what'll happen when Tim finds out he had a wife, if he didn't know already? That would be an interesting, normal-person/normal-couples issue they can go through.

Once all this blows over, of course. If Tim weren't hospitalized, it would be awesome if he could help Tony in the technical aspects of... saving the world.

"One's evil and the other one's in the hospital" still sounds like a familiar plot... but I don't think it's ever been shown with a gay couple :0 Which is... good? I guess?

When Spymaster was revealed as gay, I really liked it. We finally had an out-and-out villain who's homosexuality was played for sympathy, not depravity. The number of villains like that can be counted on one hand.

And finding out that he didn't actually kill his boyfriend makes me like this even more.

This is true.

Even more that he actually saved his life at risk of his own, and they had a long, regular (as regular as working for Tony Stark can be) and healthy relationship before everything went to hell *sob*.

I really really hope they pursue this.
