You can practically hear the bowm-chicka-POW-baum! queuing up in the background.

Wow. How can Marvel even claim the Avengers AREN'T being pricks during this event? It's about the fate of the world and they're trading quips like it's just a walk in the park. Fucking stupid.

This whole story line is stupid (and this from a company that gave us Identity Disc, and Civil War). Where the heck are the other members of the Fantastic Four? Heck, just Franklin (the most powerful MUTANT in existence) and Valeria (the smartest girl in the world) could probably put an end to this quite easily.

Ben in PARTICULAR has come off as a real jerk out to pick a fight with all of the mutants.

Well, you know, that's because Brian Wood likes writing intelligent and thoughtful takes on characters with superpowers.

Isn't colossus powered by the Gem of Something and was already nearly on par with The Thing? Shouldn't the Thing be a mile line rubble streak instead of, I don't know, beating Colossus? Hasn't it been showed that Juggernaut himself can easily fight Quiet Rage Hulk to a standstill? I give up on this a joke of an event. nothing it makes sense and almost offensive to X Men fans.

Yeah, I'm not totally current on power levels but Juggernaut alone is no match for the entire FF. And I have always thought of Colossus as being a pretty strong powerhouse.

This event has made Thing into some kind of Hulk-Hyperion-Thor type (beating Namor in the water!). It's just stupid. When writers don't bother to follow the bounds of their own pre-set, established fictional reality, I have zero interest.

This is such a pointless series in a pointless event. All that's happened in AvX so far is mindless fighting, so they decided to make a side series where all they do is fight. These could be interesting if the fights were against people who were friends. Make them really emotional. But no. We get this.

I haven't read marvel in ages, but, when did Colossus take the Gem of Cyttorak? What happened to Cain Marko? O_O

During Fear, Itself, Cain Marko was one of the people who received a magical evil hammer from the Serpent and was running towards Uotpia to destroy it (and everything in his way). One of Cyke's (many) plans to stop him was striking a deal with Cytorrak, who did not look kindly on his pet serving another godthing than him, for Colossus to get the Gem instead.

Taken out of context, Ben comes off really, really badly here.

I think the only one of these fights so far I've actually not hated totally was the Spidey/Colossus fight and that was cause I liked the art and Peter was so snarky during the whole thing. I had already called who'd win the Cap/Gambit one, but really they've all been pretty much cop-outs. The Magneto/IM one was embarrassing with how that one ended.

Captain America vs Gambit was more embarrassing becsuse I can't imagine Gambit being so stupid as to think he stood a chance with the Greatest Fighter/Best Guy Ever. After all, Gambit is a sneaky clever dude. He should have known better. Pitiful.

Is that whole fight going to be nothing but Russian jokes? Oh, what do I care, I'm not gonna read it anyway. Only way I would is if Magik gets an actual clear cut win against Widow.

the fact that that fight is supposed to go on for more than 1 page after they hit limbo tells me she's not going to. because the avengers are the world's mightiest heroes, even when some fights amount to Olympic athletes directly going solo against gods.

All I can say is Piotr should dissect Ben before he got the gem. With it? Hooo boy how did Ben take a single punch? Thor should have a hard time trying to contain Colossonaut much less have Ben put him on the ground.

Also with respect to Franklin being the "most powerful mutant ever" I'm pretty sure that title actually belongs to Hyperstorm; Franklin and Rachel's kid from an alternate reality. Besides aren't Nate, Nathan and Rachel all immune to Reality Warping as they aren't even from this timeline as well as having enough psychic mojo to disable the kid without even needing to blink?

I was actually excited for a bit to try and see how this went but so many of these fights are utter bullshit (Gambit should actually mop the floor with Cap seeing as Gambit is one of the few beings in the 616 who can destroy Caps shield!!!)
