I hate to tell you but at scans daily Thursday is fanart day!

I like to see detailed pencil work and I'm diggin' aquaman's face, but if you can take this post back to the drafts folder for five or so days, I'll like it even more.

Thank you! Sorry to bring an unveiling down.

Nice Bunker fanart. Always good to see more of that.

As for text size, why not posting the entry with the tags all deliberately broken (replace the square brackets with curved brackets should work) in a comment? Someone can read it and see where the mistake is.

Okay, one of the best pieces of advice I've heard from comic book artists is to learn from places other than comics. Andrew Loomis has a book you should totally look at (Figure Drawing for All It's Worth) and words cannot describe how good sessions with live models are for you. Seriously, try to draw from live models as much as possible. It helps so much. (I need to do it more.)

You seem to have a good grasp of how comic heroes look like but not of the base figures (the human shapes usually drawn for reference before drawing in the details).

Do you have any formal training? Or at least have you tried dabbling in "how to draw" books? :) The others are right; you're very good with detail and the look of comics in general but I get the impression you're drawing straight from the source without taking the steps (first, shape of the body. Then lines of the body. Then details, etc etc).

It comes off (with all due respect) as the drawings kids do, when they simply copy what they see. It's very well-done, but you need training (whether self-training or from classes) before you can land comics jobs.

Also Huntress' head is a bit squished. But that's all that really bothered me :)

Don't go for 'how to draw comics.' Just 'How to draw.' Here are some good books:

http://www.amazon.com/Anatomy-Artist-Sarah-Simblet/dp/078948045X/ref=sr_1_22?ie=UTF8&qid=1339947677&sr=8-22&keywords=anatomy

If you don't want to buy them, then check your local library. If they don't have them there, well, I'm pretty sure you can illegally download at least one of them. (Not that you should. But it's always an option.)

You want to download them? In my opinion, if you're not willing to actually hit the real paper books and spend some time studying them, you're just playing around. I understand if money is a concern, but I strongly suggest you scrape some together and get a book you can carry with you, draw in, and study.

That's kinda funny, because most of the figure drawing books I've got came from my dad and there's no way in hell I'd ever draw in them. That's what I have sketchbooks for.

Then again, I suck. So, there you go.

Woah, that's not really fair. I take drawing pretty seriously, and I can't afford art books (they're hella expensive). There are other ways to study than from books - I mostly look at free stock photos and tutorials online.

I don't really know. I've seen download links for Loomis floating around, but it's definitely a lot better to invest in an copy for yourself.

That being said, just google the title plus the word download and you'll probably find them.

Not that I'm endorsing that.

Adding a few of my own suggestions for books:

http://www.amazon.com/Figure-Drawing-Invention-Michael-Hampton/dp/0615272819/ref=sr_1_1

http://www.amazon.com/Classic-Human-Anatomy-Function-Movement/dp/0823024156/ref=sr_1_4

Force is awesome and Figure Drawing and Invention is worth the price.

I also suggest looking at eyecager.tumblr.com's stuff as they post a lot of references and stuff.

And if you can't find live models BEHOLD!: http://www.pixelovely.com/gesture/figuredrawing.php It's a timed script site where they post up anatomy stock photos for people to draw.

Dude, thanks for the Pixelovely site! I don't have the time/money for live model sessions and the 30 second feature is looking to be super useful!

NOt bad but... the bodies look kinda weird, especially the midsection. Too.. elongated and sleek? The Huntress one also seems out of proportion.

They're pretty good, especially as you are young, I love Huntress's little bat! Here are some resources collected by a great person on tumblr that you might find helpful:
