Batman and Robin use their detective skills to stop a crime before it happens by a laid off desperate man.

They discuss different scenarios to the desperate man of him being stop by the the dynamic duo or getting kill by a ex-detective turn security guard.

The only thing I don't like is leaving him out there. It seems like a mean move. I mean, what if in his climb down he slips, falls a couple of stories and turns into a grease smear on the pavement? Wouldn't that technically be their fault?

The optimistic bit of me would suggest that they'd be watching his descent, so they'd catch him in case anything happened.

Yep, that's how I see it. Batman and Robin wouldn't be THAT cruel.

I'm sorry, I'm to distracted by a pump action shotgun being a breach loader.

Yeah, I'm not even a huge expert on guns and I looked at that and thought, "That doesn't look quite right."

Yeah, that's weird. It's got no hinge, or anything, so that it can separate. It's like the artist knew what one looked like, but didn't know how they worked. They'd seen a picture, but not seen one in action.

Very likely; artists work from photo references all the time. I've never physically held any sort of gun, or even seen one in the flesh that wasn't on a cop's belt. The artist could put pretty much whatever on that shotgun/rifle/whatever it is and I'd never pick up on it.

Also "bullets". Shotguns don't use bullets.

Yeah. Someone like Damien would always use the correct terminology. He'd say "shells."

That's Tim, not Damien. I'm guessing this is either a flashback to Tim's tenure as Robin or an old story.

According to the script it's *supposed* to be. The first panel notes it's a 12 gauge.

Look at what's supposed to be the tube magazine. It's about the same bore and length as the barrel and appears to be open at the end as well.

Maybe it's an over-and-under with a weird looking foregrip that looks like the pump handle of a pump-action.

And Bruce Wayne doesn't happen to run into this guy and cover his medical bills?

Thats the tradiation. I swear living in Gotham is like having a gaurdian angel. Sure Superman saves you from falling. Bruce invests in better safety structures and hires the out of work down on his luck guy to help build it.

I like what they've done in Action Comics, with Clark Kent being an investigative journalist that exposes all of these crimelords and injustices. Nothing new, I know, but it's good that it's been a big part.

Its one of the reasons I like Clark and Bruce more then alot of heroes, both companies. I mean sure Barry is also a CSI, but to Clark and Bruce it seems like their entire lives are helping people.

I am enjoying the crap out of AC right too though.

I wonder if Clark ever tried to investigative journalise Bruce before they found out who they are, what with Lex and the like not really giving the Metropolis crowd a very good default when it comes to dealing with rich people.

Clark was raised by the Kents. I'm sure they taught him that there is nothing wrong with being wealthy. Lex is a bad guy because he's Lex. He's only more dangerous because he's rich.

Unless they retcon the Kents into being bad guys who raise Clark for the reason of having a secret reason or whatever.

Wait, did they happen to know about this guy beforehand, or does Bruce just monitor gun purchases in general and spies on every one? If so, what a creepy fascist. Though I guess that's not a new interpretation of Batman.

I think it was more like monitoring people's purchases in case they buy a gun AND a balaklava AND a crowbar, and then looking up what their financial situation is.

Any one or two of those purchases at once isn't dangerous, all of them together coupled with a recently unemployed man with a sick child, then you have a dangerous situation.

Not technically. Morally and legally.

Morality is the technicality that brings negative seriality to this reality. Legality is the technicality that obstructs the causality of this situation. In the end it's all technical, so lets not heckle, and sit back and enjoy the spectacle.

...yeah uh I was trying to go somewhere with this but I forgot where it was and got lost and HEY LOOK ALLITERATION but yes, they would be morally and legally responsible.
