Last issue of DIAL H ended with Nelson meeting the mystery woman Manteau, who seems to have some connection with the Dial. What's her deal?

At the site of the Dial H phone booth, Nelson and Manteau face off against gangsters...

She takes him to her home in the hills, where she reveals that she has an H Dial as well (hence the hose powers). She uses hers to transform once again, this time becoming a tree-branch woman.

So, the hero dial in this version slowly overwhelms its users with memories of the different heroes it can turn them into, eventually driving them insane and mutating them?

There's a team of superheroes based off of being parts of a house? And they fought against a dragon made of gardening tools?

That's fucking amazing. Comic of the Year.

And a fine and noble reason that is too, it was one of the things that kept me coming back to the original Dial H series, and Morrison's Doom Patrol run too! :)

I kind of like that it puts a nifty bend on the classic "Nature vs. Technology" story by having the tech (and especially dirty, dingy, Industrial revolution era tech, which wasn't terribly environmentally friendly) be in the right.

I mean its a bunch of house people, one of them basically a zombie with a chimney on his head, fighting a giant plant dragon.

I need this comic so much, the bizareness of it is reminding me of Un Lun Dun, my favourite of Mielville's books.

The art is nice and the story is wonderfully silly in parts. Sounds like a good series to follow.

I picked up this comic book by complete accident and it's now in my top 5. Love the insanity and queerness of it, like the main guy (finally someone to really relate to ) and I'm intrigued by the sory behind the dial.
