I've only ever been vaguely aware of Carol's history, but yeah, this sounds pretty much like when I try to explain comics to someone who hasn't read them before. Very amusing :)

And what happened with Marcus was, he aged rapidly and died in limbo, then his brainwashing wore off, and then she escaped.

But wow, "my son is my son's father" is a horrible idea, and yet Oedipus Complexes aren't the worst we've ever seen in comics.

They have a regular webcomic, plus other Comics, Everybody stuff.

Interestingly, the pitch for the Guardians of the Galaxy movie has got people saying that it might be a reference to Ms. Marvel, it being about a USAF pilot who is beamed into outer space and joins up with a bunch of alien convicts.

Which actually sounds like Farscape, now that I think about it.

If they just want to make it farscape I have to admit I really wouldn't mind. Especially if Ben Browder figures in there somewhere.

Ben Browder as Star Lord would perhaps be TOO close to John Crichton. But Groot and Rocket via the Henson Creature Shop, and Laika a la Fraggle Rock's Sprocket/Dog from The Storyteller would be awesome!

Man the Avengers are just the worst. Does any team have as bad a track record as they do when it comes to making sure their people are ok?

The X-Men, possibly? Remember when Scott declared the team "over", leaving all the members and students to essentially fend for themselves? Then there was Scott abandoning Madelyne, Professor X not warning anyone about Danger, the exploding school bus...I'm sure I could sit here all day listing examples.

Also even after Scott disbanded the team, I thought the individual teachers went around and made sure everyone was ok? Specifically thinking of Northstar helping out Anole.

I haven't yet read any of the new Capt. Marvel comic, yet. Money is tight. But, I've always loved Carol, and I was wondering if anyone made mention of the fact that her new name is actually a demotion, seeing as she made the rank of Major in the USAF, and that outranks a Captain. I mean, I know it's tradition and all, and "Captain Marvel" rolls off the tongue much better than "Major Marvel", but still, it could make for a bit of humorous dialogue.

Ah, I didn't know she ever made Colonel. I guess that's enough of a joke to satisfy my interest. Although... Was Steve just making a joke, or was he being serious? The sarcasm doesn't really come through in those two panels alone. He is joking, right?

yeah, he's joking. There seems to have been some miscommunication between the art & writing in that scene in the first issue, that whole fight is drawn in a darker way than it seems to have been meant by DeConnick.
