Yeah, I really enjoyed this--the art here is no Nicola Scott, but it works; plus all the reveals and teases we're getting...past few issues I've been more interested in how the "JSA" will meet and work together, but this put the mystery of what is different, what had happened in this Earth with Darkseid's invasion, and all of that back to the picture. :D
It may not be Nicola Scott's art, but I had zero complaints about it, myself. Compared to other comics, there are points where I feel Earth 2 is disappointingly short, especially since the comic seems to be leading somewhere interesting. With this, however, I'm wondering what they're building up to. Is Mister Terrific going to be someone to worry about?
So what exactly has he done? He's traveled between universes I take it to get perspective on the problem or something and then done what to a bunch of places why?
It appeared to be all set during the Apokolips War that eventually killed Supes, Wonder Woman, Batsy, and assorted sidekicks that left the world with no superheroes. The Anti-Life Equation was in effect, and all those places were locations that had been consumed by it.
I should have posted some of what was going on off-panel. From the expository dialogue going on in the comic, it seemed that the others weren't willing to make the hard decision to give them a greater foothold- that is, sacrifice countless lives so that the war could actually be winnable. Batman and Mister Terrific were supposed to destroy its power generator so that the Anti-Life transmission towers would become inert. It sounded like Mister Terrific knew or assumed that if they did that, eventually nothing would be solved in the long term.
Yeah, I was disappointed in that as well. But, if the directive from above was that there must have been a 'trinity' that was killed, therefore setting up the WF series, and that the Earth 1 Mister T must be incorporated into the second Earth, then I'll give Robinson a pass on how he got there. What he's doing with the revivals thus far has been interesting enough to keep me entertained, and to make the Earth 2 book my favorite of the post-Flashpoint Dc's.
I have to say that I'm far more invested and enjoying Earth 2 compared to the rest of the DCnU. I'm of the opinion that THIS is what they should have done with the DCnU as a whole. just start over. They should have ended the "old World" with a happily ever after moment and started fresh.
I would have liked COIE to have given the old worlds a happy ending. Sort of like walling them off from the rest of the universe or something instead of killing off so many heroes and destroying worlds that DC just ended up bringing back, anyway.
People think this latest reboot trashed everything? They should have been a fan when COIE happened.
Didn't like it all that much - an entire issue wasted on something that could have been told in 2-3 pages. I know they were trying to capitalise on The Trinity but frankly, I love Earth 2 so much because it's not about them. On top of that, if you're tring to turn someone into a "tragic villain" portraying him as a painfully smug know-it-all is not the right way to do it.

Here it actually comes of as more 'correct' than what Ozymandias did.
