Not his Finest Hour.

So anyone who has seen several of my post know I post alot of Sonic and Sonic Universe. Most of those post sing the praises of Doctor Julian Kintobor, AKA Dr. Ivo Robotnik, AKA Dr. Eggman, since his rise to glory as one of the most best villains I seen. This is not one of those stories.



So since the "Secret Freedom Fighters" arc has ended both Sonic titles are doing filler issues. For SU it's an adaptation of "Sonic All-Star Racing Transformed" featuring special guests.
Like Danica Patrick, the Jet Set Radio guy, a Monkey and some other sega dude.
Every one is gathered in an alternate zone for the big race. Then Eggman shows up.



Essentially Eggman is Dick Dastardly. If you don't know who that is, please stop making me feel old.







So long story short, Eggman loses and flies off. The lesson here is that game adaptation like this are best left to 1-3 pages and not full issue. At least next month we get a Chaotix story .

Yeah that's brilliant Eggman. Openly announce how you are totally going to conquer everyone's worlds once you win the race, its not like you're encouraging them to gang up on you or anything.

They actually adapted Sega All Star Racing?

Well the Archie comics established parallel realities a while ago, so it makes sense that the other sega games exist in the multiverse, so why not have them get together to race?

Also, this opens the door for a Sonic/Mario crossover comic.

I suppose the only difficulty would be trying to capture that specific flavour on the page; I started playing JSR again thanks to it being available as part of Sega's new Gold collection for downloading, and.. It's just so distinct. The gameplay, the cel-shaded visuals, the music.. I don't think the story would be particularly difficult to put across at all - although it would take a good writer to deepen what little the story offers - but it really would take the right visuals to make it great.

The interest of fairness.

I mean if Sonic just ran he'd win hands down. Everyone knows it, so they limit him with a vehicle to give the other racers a sporting chance.

As for Tails, well he's Sonic's tech guy anyways.

Or the Runner, when he organised the "fastest being on Earth" competition in Quasar, and included the likes of Northstar and Monica Rambeau and had to include a rule that competitors would allow their feet to touch the ground every so often.

Never mind the fact that there are usually rules for events like this. It could just as easily have been that using a vehicle is one of them.

I still'd prefer a story comic, but it was fun.
