Bankruptcy is a classic method of avoiding compacts and agreements with employees. Corporations do it all the time. They just cranked up the salaries of everyone on top, said they were running out of money, blamed it on unions asking them to pay decent human wages to their workers, and now they can skip out, and either sell the company for even more money, move manufacturing overseas, whatever. Twinkies will live on. It's the people who actually make them who'll be losing their jobs.
