I'd say I'm sorry.... but I'm really not.

I mean honestly, why would I be? And with this movie still running, I'm trying to get as many people to watch it as possible. Twice, if I can pull that.
This one's about Pitch again, and the demons that lived long, long ago, when the darkness ruled the earth.

Pitch goes down to observe the hunt and trial, only to find:

He runs to the shadows, but is too late.

Pitch would have been the perfect guardian. The monster, I can guess, is one of the really old ones, the ones who were so powerful back when man was still afraid of the elements, and of the dark.
The monster was the kind Pitch protected them from. Their fear of the true monsters kept them away, made people safe.
The reason people heard what Pitch said about Sir Anseme was because they were afraid--and guardians can only be heard and seen in their center, if the people believe. And with all the fear going on, Pitch's words came through to them.
Unfortunately, that came at a price.
Man, Rufftoon, man. So much appreciation of the mythos stems from you.
Also, some nice art:

And some early concept art from Shane Prigmore:

You're right, I wish they'd kept the Middle Eastern style Tooth had.

Date: 2012-12-01 08:32 pm (UTC)And I totally had a headcanon about Pitch really pushing the whole 'witch-hunt' age. And the Crusades. Maybe even Joan of Arc's death too?
Sandy is, and forever will be, a BAMF. He's the epitome of the phrase "speak softly, and carry a big stick".

Date: 2012-12-02 12:44 am (UTC)It reminds me of Desire of the Endless--even Pitch's attitude, he's completely against being "controlled" or influenced by children when the rest of the Guardians understand that, without the children, they are nothing.

Date: 2012-12-02 12:49 am (UTC)Like I wrote in the other RotG post, a little fear is a good thing in people; it keeps us from doing things that might get us hurt, like running into the street or wandering off in the dark. Too much fear stunts us in our day-to-day life, and would keep kids from growing into healthy adults they're meant to be.
Pitch crossed that line centuries ago, and wants to erase the line completely by the time the movie happens.

Growth? Change? IDK.
