 Issue #86 just came out, so I'm going to put up more of the fight between Optimus and Megatron.  The dam has breached, this is one very angry Prime at war.

I found myself facepalming at the "No I can't kill you in anger" moment... Prime sweetie, there's a time and a place for being THAT upright, and this ain't it.

It's really his biggest weakness, but at least he gets over it this time.

This is the same Prime that killed himself when he and Megatron had the competition in the video game. Though Prime won, he believed he won outside his normal beliefs as the he allowed others to die to win even if they were digital creations. He is trying to stand by his belief of how it should be done even if it is not practical in real life scenarios.

I anyone else getting a major Joker-Batman vibe from Megatron's rant about them being opposites and so on? The unshackled and liberated part in particular bit sounds a lot like what Scott Snyder is doing in Batman right now, though I don't think this book is ripping that one off, it is a weird coincidence.

This is the first time in years I've been completely invested in a Transformers medium. Yes, there's plenty of flaws, but it just feels so... right as someone who obsessively collected every issue of the UK run as it came out. Megatron's on the edge here but just sound like my Megatron. Obsessing over Prime, a total mess, all force and no finesse and Prime doing the wounded warrior thing. This is the issue where everything clicked for me, especially as in the issue we also got Ratchet being dumped on from a great height and the lobotomised Starscream still managing to screw over Megatron. Perfection and Furman's and Wildman both stepped up their game with this one.
