Harley and Joker start fighting after she kills her hyenas (Which pisses off harley more because the joker gave them rabies).

Which afterwards ends with Joker biting off part of Harley's ear poisoning her.



The toxins in Harley body starts to affect her and she pretends to give in and ends up biting Joker's tongue when they kiss. Joker kicks her and she finally passes out.

So much dislike for this portrayal of both Harley and the Joker.

...Okay, I can live with the costume. It's a little stupid, but I can see what they were trying to do, using her looks from the Arkham games make sense with the new readers they were trying to attract.

A few panels here show that the idea of Harley and Joker being loving adversaries has some charm/potential with a better writer.

But the other Harley's? Yeah, I'm thinking/hoping that's bullshit on Glass's part. I can see why someone would think it's a good twist on the Batman/Joker relationship by having a long line of Harleys, Joker's sidekicks, but it doesn't make sense in the overall continuity of things.

However, it does make sense in terms of how Joker has been psychologically messing with everyone in Death of the Family. If Joker was trying to pull Harley's figurative heart out, having it that she was a sap that Joker pegged and exploited makes sense--hell, Batman used that fear in Harley in Mad Love to get out of Harley's death-trap.

Honestly I don't think this costume even matches up that much with the Arkham games look. That costume was gratuitous, but it wasn't this bad.

Hence the "try." Honestly, I think if they were going to change up her costume, they should have just taken the Arkham City costume wholesale.

Yeah, I think that would have worked better. Maybe some slight modifications or something, give it a jacket or some real sleeves, and I think it would be a decent if unnecessary update. The current costume though is just bad, like, genuinely embarrassing to me as a comic book fan that it's associate with the medium.

I hear ya--I guess it's since I don't read this book, I just don't really think about it anymore. I read the first issue of Suicide Squad and it was...okay, but whatever "morally ambigous characters on world-saving missions" fix I may have has pretty much been filled with Red Hood and the Outlaws and now Team 7.

The Arkham games outfits made sense in context though, in Arkham Asylum it was an adapted nurse outfit and the setting was a hospital, and in Arkham City she was pretty much the defacto leader of a street gang so she dressed more in line with that part too.

hmm i have to say... watching Harley kick Joker's ass like that is extremely cathartic...really liking that.

actually horrible costume aside (and bad clown car jokes) I kinda liked this harley... she's more independant than she was portrayed in the past, or maybe it;s just i like that she is not taking the joker;s abuse anymore

Yeah, I loved it when she got to turn the tables on him ("You know I hate to go anywhere without you, baby.")

Still can't get used to her new look though.

Some momentary visceral satisfaction from Harley smashing his face into the stone wall, though one has to wonder how the hell the "mask" isn't wrecked beyond any chance of re-use.

The "Spare Harley's" I am choosing to read as being a Joker headgame with random corpses he's dressed up, because anything else isn't so much "insane" as "stupid beyond words", given the only reason the name exists is because she was "Harleen Quinzel".

Yeah, I'm not buying the idea of there having been preceding Harley's, it just doesn't work for me. I'm assuming that Joker's just messing with her hear.
I really think they're over extending Joker here though, I think he's popping up in way too many books at once right now and it just feels like too much. If these appearances had been spread out over a year or so, not tied into the crossover, it would have been okay I think, but having them all explicitly tied into Death of the Family just makes the event feel bloated.

Well, even if they just aren't set dressing, they may not be literally "Harley"s, so much as "women he's duped into being his sidekick and then killed".

That could work--I mean, there's that whole thing of serial killers getting love letters while in prison. Who's to say that Joker never got any and, when he broke out of Arkham, would pay those people a visit?

Doesn't she have an immunity to all poison and toxins and enhanced strength and agility thanks to Ivy and the Amazons?

I don't think they've said if Harley has a relationship with Ivy in the New 52, but I can't think of anything that would make that not be the case, though. Probably not the case with the Amazons, though. Even if they're a little more cray-cray now, they seem to have kept in their isolation this whole time.

Ok, seeing Harley finally fight back and not take Joker's crap. Totally worth it. She's been a doormat for him too long. As for her new 52 character. Too sexualized. I always thought of Harley as cute, bubbly, and adorable, yet dangerous. That made her scary. Here..ehhh not feeling it.
