OK, so there was a lovely storyline during Mark Gruenwald's run of Captain America where the good Cap fought a villain called Superia, bent on destroying all men and rule the world with women in power. For that purpose she invited all the female villains of the MU to join her. Captain America, together with The Paladin, infiltrated her HQ and tried to stop her. It was a strange story:

Let's start with the fact that Superia tried to turn Cap and Paladin into women, that's quite original and unheard of:

Also good that the only two people who can save them are Asp and Black Mamba, super-villain friends of reformed criminal Diamondback, who was Cap's then girlfriend:

No, it wouldn't!

The two ladies release the men from the evil machine turning them into women:

Oh, no, she can't possible mean:

Fortunately what happens in Superia's HQ stays in Superia's HQ. So two men manage to walk around in an island full of man-hating women without attracting any suspicions, and Cap gets his manly costume and shield back:

And then Superia launches a missile that will sterilize the world's whole male population. When I was a kid this story seemed very normal, but now...

From Captain America #391.

Marston-era Wonder Woman might be my favorite comic books ever, but that's just weird.

Women constantly trying to annihilate all men on Earth: realistic or too realistic?

So you're telling me that in a stronghold full of man-hating amazons, Captain America, the epitome of manliness, was able to pull off a disguise as a woman with SKIN-TIGHT tights and a leather jacket?

...What?

Superia hates men, the rest of the cast aren't quite so inflexible.

Besides, he has distractingly cute bottom (and I don't mean Paladin).

I know. There's suspension of disbelief, and then there's sending disbelief to the far side of the sun.

And cannon justification for male pregnancy and genderbending in the Marvel universe found. Off to the kink meme!

Superia thank you for this gift.

That was canon many years ago, and from the same writer

Though that cover is little misleading.

See also Warlock Chronicles #5, an Infinity Crusade crossover. If you ever wanted to see a hermaphroditic Adam Warlock grow up from infancy, then conceive and bear an energy-child after an implied assault by the evil side of hir own soul given physical form, well, God help you, but here's your chance.

100% authentic Starlin, too.

Weirdly, I think Steve and Paladin DO look odd in those outfits but only because they seem to have teen tiny little heads on their usual bodies.

And bear in mind that THIS was Black Mamba's original costume

Black Mamba

And THIS was Asp's

asp

Wouldn't we rather have seen Steve and Paladin in those? I think we would! :)

Man, you can really see her asp in that costume.

So, so sorry.

I always forget: Was Gruenwald also behind the Cap!Wolf and IronCap (AKA: The one with That Page) storylines?

Long story short about IronCap: Cap's Super Serum is breaking down and is taking him with it. After a fight with Cobra and Mr. Hyde, Cap is pretty much done, leading to "That Scene". Tony Stark then builds him a power armor/life support. Which he wore until his serum breakdown problem was fixed (by Superia of all people)..

Here's what the suit looked like:

There's a reason the people who remember this don't talk about it.

I forget the particulars, but there was some mad scientist type summoming characters with canine traits (like John Jameson and Werewolf By Night) and somehow Cap got temporarily be-wolfed.

And also Cable showed up, because he was tracking down Feral, who had alos been lured in by the summons. Feral... who was explicitly feline.

Though in fairness, Feral was being drawn by Liefeld, so it would legitimately be possible to assume she feline, canine, musteline or indeed some form of goldfish (She was orange, and frequently had no visible feet after all ;) )

Good grief, this is anvilicious, or just kinky, I can't decide which (depends on how you feel about forced feminization and/or Rule 63). Now I know where Alan Moore got "Electric Ladyland" in Tom Strong from.
