Sure, we're using the lowest common denominator if you look at it in some ways. It's "Who's the strongest: Hulk or Batman? Who wins?" I'm OK with the relatively visceral examination of "Does Superman beat Batman in a fair right?" -- Paul Jenkins
Classic villain problem.... spend too much time preparing for the esoteric like psi-attacks and time manipulation and overlook a sneak attack with a sharp pointy thing.
Yep... I mean, many, many people place animals safety (because of their 'innocence') before other humans, a crime against an animal is a crime against humanity for a lot of people.
I kinda love how incredible thin the veils are on these characters. I bet if copyright wasn't a thing, Jenkins would've straight up used the actual characters.
What does a "fair fight" between a godlike being and some dude in a cape like, anyway? Batman's not allowed to use gadget, and Superman can only use one pinky? What are we talking about here?
So what's Rat's deal if he can just carry around a screw driver stored in his arm? Seems like he'd have to be more than just a human to pull that off. Also I like his mask, the eyes and the little line at the bottom is actually a pretty elegant way to communicate a rat motif.
I did pick up the first issue after the preview went up here. For $1, it wasn't a bad read. Good choice in POV character and spotting the off-brand heroes and villains was fun, but I didn't care enough about the final fate of any of them to really get intrigued by the mystery. Not a monthly buy, but the trade is cheap enough on Amazon pre-order that I'll probably go for it.
Sooooo the contest is to find the most-capable in order to take on whatever's in the Mystery Dome that the Mystery Captors have managed to put on ice until they can recruit someone to off it?
