[personal profile] tugrul posting in [community profile] scans_daily
This web comic always puts a smile on my face. I got introduced to it here on Scans Daily and have been following it ever since.

Since none have been posted here since I won't be spoiling much from the story. Here young Bruce has annoyed one of young Diana's bodyguards by sneaking around and being secretive. I suggest you catch up. :)

Edit: Here's the archive: http://limbero.org/jl8/archive

Also, this is my first post. Hope I got this right and understood the cut. Nice to meet y'all. I lurk from the shadows.

I absolutely love JL8! I spoke to the creator once, who is a really nice guy. I wouldn't mind this being published in a trade format or paperback. Of course DC most likely would never let that happen.

Well yesterday the author mentioned on Twitter that some fans had started an online petition to get DC to hired him. Most likely nothing will ever come of it, but here's the link if anyone wants to feel like they're being useful.

The only thing missing from the post is a link to the source :)

Whilst your concern is appreciated, rest assured that there are no limits on a free webcomic, though we do expect a link to the actual website in such a case.

Adding to what [personal profile] icon_uk already stated, in the case of web comics, we always link the source so that readers can know where to look for the comic and to also not take away traffic from the comic creator(s). Sometimes despite posting their work online for free, they may also choose to sell print versions of their work.

The 1/3 rule only applies to comics that are published specifically for profit and are distributed to the general market through a publisher or company, or anyone that holds the copyrights to the work, which is pretty much most of them. Not only does the 1/3 rule keep us out of trouble by not being associated with piracy for redistributing works without the creator's or publisher's written permission, but in sampling the work and discussing it, we help generate interest that will (hopefully) get people to buy the full versions of the comics they want.

Hope that makes better sense.

You can always- and should- post links to the original source.

Limits are purely on how many pages actually in the post.

I am always surprised how much I enjoy these, especially after the costume speech which annoyed me to such a high degree. I just love the voices he's given to most of the characters, especially to Bruce and Clark, and admire how he manages to have Lil' Bruce be simultaneously highly effective and intelligent, and completely childish.

My only big complaint about JL8 is how Diana is put on such a pedestal here. All the others all allowed to be kids and have to those flaws expect her, which makes me find her just really boring here.

She is the one encouraging her friend to be into a boy who really likes her.

And that makes her more of a child how? Even there Clark and Karen are the ones shown as to be children while Diana is the calm guiding force.

As Bruce notes in this strip, it's how she's raised.

Even there, though, his observation boils down to, "she's so awesome, she must be royalty." She's pretty much perfect so far and everyone else treats her as such. I agree with lucean that it makes her the least interesting one so far.

I think we'll see her get a bit more characterization at the climax of this mark, and as it is the fact that she's embarrassed by her family and being an actual princess as pretty good, even if it's the only bit of character she's got so far. I agree though, she hasn't been as consistently entertaining as any of the other kids.

All I can see is Bruce thinking "Hee hee! TOTALLY worth it!"

Not sure what stunt he pulled, but it was obviously epic.

I think it involved Bruce trying to arrest a woman for murder, who has come to Diana for protection. Sacred vows and the Furies are involved. (The classical Greek Furies, not the New Gods Female Furies, that is.)

I loved Bruce and Clark's secret method of communication from 3-4 updates back. The little editor's note style text box explaining it put a smile on my face.
