Greeting, True Believers !

The themes for the month of December seems to have been well received, so I think it would be neat to have more themes more regularly on the comm, and doing them for a full month allow people to post without having to worry about the deadlines. ;) (I know I've had troubles with that one themes previously *cough*).

Have a neat idea for a theme? Post about them in the comments! We'll try to start March with one of the popular one! :3

Looking at Wikipedia, March is...

Irish-American Heritage Month: Irish characters and Irish comic books--bonus points for stories about St. Patrick his own self.

National Nutrition Month: Food in comics and comics about food. PSAs about good nutrition!

Women's History Month: Favorite heroines and other women in comics, or who created them.

National Middle Education Month: Stories featuring middle schoolers and junior high kids *in school*.

National Brain Injury Awareness Month: Stories with brain injuries, or with a general brain theme.

National Essential Tremor Awareness Month: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Essential_Tremor I don't know that we can do this theme justice.

Oh, and the first day of Spring, so spring-related posts!

Considering the recent same-sex couple posts, maybe a "Interesting canon/slash couples in Comics" theme?

Tropes Gone Right? Just a month of examining plot points in comics that are so cliche it hurts, yet somehow still work really well in spite of that. Either due to predating the trope becoming a cliche or just due to great writing. Like The Night Gwen Stacy Died or when Batman and Superman punched each other in TDKR and it actually meant something for once.
I feel like this would be subject to quite a bit of ymmv though.

This does sound interesting, but yeah, very ymmv. Maybe "trope-originating moments" or "historic moments in tropes" or something along those lines?

"Save this comic!", Where we showcase comics on the verge of cancellation or have really, really low sales.

And since that Avengers post where some people said Cannoball was not acting like himself, how about "You're doing it wrong", where characters act OOC because of the writers not knowing anything about said character. Think Batgirl!

I find all of the above suggestions to be thoughtful, meaningful, and well considered.

Therefore I was hesitant at first to offer a suggestion of my own, but upon further reflection I feel I owe it to both myself and scans_daily as a whole to take this opportunity to ask that we reflect on this forum's proud history and on the moments that have made this community great.

I suppose what I'm trying to say is... PORN MONTH.

Can we - at some point - do a "villains being awesome" month? Alternatively (or additionally!) a "villains acting like heroes/saving the day" month?

Bad Disguises Month. Or Awesome Disguises Month.

There's a lot of fun disguise work in comics!

Hmm, I'd like to see some fun 'domestic' moments, like hanging out and eating pizza together or coffee at the local coffee shop or whatever non-saving-the-world-moments count. ;)

Also, how about a focus on sidekicks? Naturally I'd like to see the original sidekick, Dick Grayson, featured, but would enjoy seeing stuff on Roy Harper, Donna Troy, Wally West, Bucky Barnes, etc. The Golden and Silver Ages have a bunch of sidekicks we probably haven't heard much about, too.
