Thank you Brain. The mental image of Wonder Woman slowly moving her hand down down Orion's chest to his groin area while kissing him passionately has officially made you the worst thing to ever happen to her. This was not good. At all. What makes it worse is that it's so pointless. You could have cut all that crap out and just have her punch Orion off the couch since she does so anyways.
It's this type of material where I actually get on my knees and beg JMS for forgiveness for not liking his take on Wonder Woman. I will gladly purchase that entire story over any DC comic (Including Batwoman) that features your "new and improved" Wonder Woman.
"people would complain she was being portrayed as too violent and short tempered"
And she isn't being portrayed that way here? Threatening to mutilate someone for being a jerk seems a bit extreme, especially since I get the sense that she really would do it.
Oops, comment got cut off. Maybe it's because of the Injustice comic, but I've been really touchy about Diana's characterization lately. Didn't like this at all

Phil Hester, once he took over, made Odyssey pretty *good*. And JMS's issues were merely boring!
And yea, I don't like how lousy the sex-relations stuff has been in this one. 'Constantly sexist guy has his balls threatened, then cracks a sexist joke and gets decked!'. Oh, like I've never seen that before.
I think people have been waiting for something like this ever since he started being all chauvinistic.
and I'm also not surprised by some of the reactions. some ( most) are finally happy she said something. others are upset that she did it. even saying it's out of character or that she overreacted.
I think she was well in character and not at all overreacting. she had told him several times to piss off. she warned him more sternly, then more aggressively and now with ferocity. she have him every opportunity to behave respectfully. he didn't. this was the result. honestly I think despite not being a diplomat anymore, she rescued VERY diplomatically, abs very rationally. I'm quite happy with this. she reacted in a way he would understand.
Considering Orion repeatedly have made sexist comments and passes at Diana through the entirety of his appearance in his comic, including grabbing her ass, her doing something this extreme to get him to stop is probably the only thing that'd get through his thick skull.
Also, I'm disappointed that the bit where Diana's new family are discussing baby names didn't appear here instead, that was actually funny and has the characters in a positive light. Even Ares and Hera, surprisingly.
Having read through the first two trades of this series, I have to say that I am a fan of this new incarnation in addition to the previous ones. Although Diana isn't as polished here as she was in the previous one, the ability to have character flaws isn't the same as being a bad character.
Also, the reason why she's so protective of her new baby half-brother may be due to the rest of her "family", her mother and the Amazons, were turned into a statue and snakes respectively by Hera as "punishment" for Hippolyta's affair with Zeus. Which IS harsh, but in character for Hera from a mythological standpoint.
And, yes, Diana did reject her mother and the Amazons for lying to her about her parentage... for about five minutes, when she realised that she was making a mistake and went back to apologise, but those five minutes was unfortunately the window Hera used to effectively genocide the Amazons.
Diana being protective of the baby, his mother, Lennox etc. isn't a case of the book being sexist and wanting to get rid of its female characters, it's a case of them being all she has left now in terms of Family.
I don't know, maybe a future storyline will have her actively trying to bring the Amazons back instead of just waiting for them to appear as previous versions have when they went missing, and that'll bring more female characters into the mix.
