It's Johnny! He's back!

Dr Destiny is the father of the DCnU? ...that actually makes a surprising amount of sense.

Wait, what with Felix Faust appearing in this book as well, have they segregated all of the magical villains that the JLA would face into JLD, with the JLA team/s dealing with the more traditional supervillainous or alien threats?

Either way, it seems odd that Dr Destiny hasn't been protrayed that well within DC comics themselves, yet his appearances in Sandman and the Justice League cartoon are considered to be up there with the best of both. *shrug*

Oh, and for the record? Dr Destiny first appeared in 1961, while Skeletor appeared first in 1981. Stop saying that Dee is a rip-off of him.

Cool, I've always thought Doctor Destiny was an interesting villain, from the Sandman and JL appearances that you mentioned, and from what I understand JLD is less facepalm inducing than JL or JLA, so this could be okay.

Not sure about this new look,, it's pretty close to his classic look, but it's a bit too gruesome for my tastes. I suppose if this is just his dream form or whatever though there's an excuse for him to look affectedly creepy, I just hope his real body is a more or less normal dude.

I preferred his look in Morrison's "Arkham Asylum", where he resembled a proper patient of an insane asylum, and especially someone deprived of sleep for most of his adult life.

"Ha! I'll make sure Clark Kent is unmarried, as well as Barry Allen! And, maybe something about only three Robins and no Teen Titans."

Okay, most of the DCNU redesigns are stupid, but here it really works.

I may be biased because I like Doctor Destiny, but this really works for me.

Why is his "heart" in his diaphragm?

Additionally, alongside this new Reverse-Flash are ALL the reinvented supervillains going to have their costumes inspired by someone getting a giant ketchup stain on their shirt? Do they hire one guy to come up with the costume designs, and does he do it from a burger joint across the road from the office?

One guy and his name is Lee. He's the reason for instance every DC hero now has the same stupid collar.

Maybe when he says "Father of the New Earth" he means he's going to take over the world, thus making it a "new earth" under him; just a thought. Also, I haven't finished reading the Sandman, (I got the entire series during Christmas, but so far only read the first volume) but Doctor Destiny's appearance in it was pretty good.

I...hope he's using magical lips to say all of that, because really it should be coming out as "THF CLL FLL UL SN RSSS. LL MGGIC WLL E I CFLC, BU I CM TUH CH TH EQUQUN...TUH CHNG TH OOCU A THS GREAAA AAHTUH...THHR F TH NEE RTH...DCTGR DSTTTDDNNNN!"

I mean, fair enough, it's an impressive look, but I don't think anyone was expecting the JLD's new foe to be the hideous offspring of Skeletor and Arseface.

Skeletor always had rather good diction, so there must be a trick to it... or a spell at least.

"Dr Destiny is the father of the DCnU? "

I assume he means he's planning to create a new, new world.

The DCnU seems to mostly use repackaged old villains.

I mean, they did new villains at first, but old one started coming back *fast*.
