Gotta love those Francavilla character history montages.
And man, new Swordsman, this Clown- Tracksuit Dracula gangs and established New York criminal presence aside, it's kinda like Fraction's trying to give Clint a rogues gallery of circus folk.
Maybe I'm reading this wrong but I think she's using her "feminine wiles" for the sake of further investigation. I don't think she has any genuine interest in him.
I read the dialog and I still wasn't sure if Clint had a backstory I didn't know about or something. What do I know about Hawkeye? Uh.. he's blond and occasionally shoots arrows.
I know the whole point of these scans is that 17 year old (At most) Kate is sticking her tongue down the throat of some creepy guy twice her age, but all I keep thinking is "Man, what a boneheaded move to loudly shout "Hawkeye out!" when you're supposed to be keeping a secret identity."
It's like she's forgotten the entire Hawkingbird/"If you had a codename, people asking who you are wouldn't be a problem" fiasco from the Young Avengers arc where they recruited Tommy.
Honestly, I felt like this issue was the first dud of this series. The Francavilla art is gorgeous, but I could give two shits about the shitty clown's super-sad origin. I just want to see Clint put an arrow in the shitty clown's face.
I'm kinda sad you didn't put in the page where the guy as a teen finally snaps. That page is almost artful with how friggin' psychopathic it comes off as...
