Not saying that a Wonder Woman/Superman series can't be interesting, just that, really, if they were going to deal with the sexualities of they characters they should have chosen a writer who'd handle it maturely.

And not like a drunken fratboy.

okay... this might be stupid... but if we are using the Steel/Kleenex definition...

shouldn't Diana's vagina obliterate any non superhuman's penis?

also that one with Catwoman made me laugh... "my libido is now officially switched off, forever, bruce"

I think most guys would argue it was worth it.

Now I may not be the biggest expert on Superman, but couldn't he create some kind of Red Sun room or device that reduces his powers during sex? I mean the argument is crazy, but it seems to me that someone as intelligent as Superman would be able to work around this.

That would cover the act. IF (big if, considering that we're essentially talking about two humanoid species from different planets, but let's just say for the sake of argument), children enter the equation... we don't know whether normal birth control would be effective against super-sperm — or how effective it would be. Currently, no non-surgical procedure is 100% effective and there's at least one instance on record where the surgery was botched and pregnancy occurred.

Niven points this out too in Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex: when the fetus begins to kick... things could be very bad. Depending on how invulnerable WW is internally, I mean. And whether super strength or any other super-powers manifest in the womb.

To say nothing of other factors, now I think of it. Like what happens if the baby needs to be delivered by C-section...

I wouldn't put money on Wonder Woman getting a movie. The Avengers did extraordinarily well at the box office and it didn't land Black Widow a movie.

I'm not saying Wonder Woman getting a movie will never happen. I'm just saying, I'm not holding my breath. Particularly considering what happened to her tv show(s). (Is Amazon still happening?)

The most ironic thing with the Avengers and Black Widow is that Whedon has the nerve to sit there and say 'no-one's going it and all it would take is one great movie with a female superhero'.

So the man who would have Disney and Marvel eating out of the palm of his hand, with the ability - probably - to do whatever he wants as a next project, has basically decided to say 'fuck it', rather than leading the path. Even though BW was one of the most well-received parts of his film, and should be a breeze for him.

Hell, I'm suspicious of a Justice League movie happening. I just get the impression the corprate cutlure at Warner Bros, where any hairbrained producer who will fund the five martini lunches of the WB execs can get the movie rights.

You know, they'd probably sell more copies of the series if it had explicit sex scenes. Put some of those fan artists to work and turn it into "Clark 'n' Diana Bone Their Way 'Round the DCU." I'd buy that.

Issue #3: They Call It Paradise Island For A Reason (guest-starring Power Girl, Supergirl, two containers of Cool Whip)
Issue #6: Red (Sun) Light District (guest-starring Batman, Nightwing, extra-large tube of Astroglide)
Issue #11: The Six-Mile-High Club (guest-starring the rest of the Justice League, riding crop, confused llama)
Issue #12: Dancing With Myself (double-sized anniversary issue; guest-stars... Superman and Wonder Woman?!)

Get Phil Foglio to draw some of it. It'd be great.

Honestly, what's the point of this book? Is there anything they can do in it, that can't be done in JL, one of Superman books or WW? If they want a book about superhero battle couple, or just about two hot people kicking ass and having sex, they already have Aquaman and while Arthur/Mera aren't as iconic as Supes and Wondy individually, they as couple are much less polarizing so why bother?

BTW, I know Clark isn't christian, but he does strike me as the type of guy, who would wait with sex until the marriage.

.................you know...when I saw the headline, I merely said "ugh" and ignored it. I accepted that Supers and Wondy are in a relationship in this new 52. They always date in various continuities it seems at some point. But knowing they were getting a series? Seriously that just told me they were milking the shit out of this and I'm seriously getting annoyed by it now...and now...you mean to tell me that the point of this fucking book....is FUCKING?!!! Not to mention Diana and Steve having had sex right after she left the island? When they clearly seem to hint at feelings they have for each other, yet making it seem like Steve's love for her is one sided and they haven't actually dated? Wait, I think they did date, but it was brushed over the 5 year gap. If they had sex then, fine. Otherwise, it just seems like it's still one sided and honestly as much as I love Wondy, Steve did deserve better.

Still..first they give her a father and now reduce to creating books just to see her bone? And they make it sound like...she's..easy? That's...what the hell man?!!

I'm no prude. I like sex. I like a little raunchiness sometimes. I read some erotica, that includes comics. I even like a little sex in titles that are "R" rated. I wouldn't mind seeing Diana in a sex scene but if that is all there is, then what's the point? It feels degrading. Just bring back the damn Tijuana bibles, because clearly people have some sexual fantasies they need to fulfill.

It seems like they want to define her by everything you don't regularly associate with her and in this case, that's not a good thing. Just when I try to believe that creators are better than this... well I'm proven wrong.

Oh man.
And it's speculation on the sex lives of characters like Superman and Wonder Woman that make me keep trying to get a publisher to greenlight a good superhero erotica anthology.

One of these days, someone will hand me the keys to the editorial cabinet and a checkbook, and... muahaha.

Because the first thing I thought at hearing the news that Superman/Wonder Woman was about them having sex was: Well, guess that just means all us fangirls were right about Superman/Batman. ;)

Wow, I can't believe how much I hate this (Not the Casstoon's comic, that's brilliant). And I know this board doesn't allow bashing of writers but man I really want to break that rule just because of the tumblr comments.

MoS, WoK is a terrible and unnecessary attempt to justify this "story". Since Clark and Lois had a healthy marriage pre-Flashpoint, it obviously wasn't a problem then, so why bring it up now?

If the writer can pull this off by keeping both leads equally important instead of reducing one or the other to being an "accessory", maybe it could work. Given the "maturity" of those tumblr comments, that doesn't seem likely.

How sad is it that the original Wonder Woman comics written in the '40s that involved a lot of bondage are more respectful than this tripe?

What's interesting to me about this is that DC Comics decides to announce this book right around the time that Man of Steel comes out in cinemas, where he, you know, actually snogs with Lois Lane and decides to work in the same building as her.

I honestly can't decide if DC Comics is trolling at this point.
