Fancomics: Nico, Surge's Return, and the Stepford Triplets?

Wanted to acknowledge the preview that had Nico being alive again maybe. If it turns out she is, I’ve got another strip planned.



So, Surge is back at the school. For some reason.

Not really sure why.

Probably didn’t go down like this.



The Stepford Cuckoos got referred to as triplets in a recent issue of X-Men. I’m not sure what the actual term for them would be, but I’m pretty sure it isn’t triplets. (In his defense, new mutant guy had no way to know that.)

Whilst we do sympathise with your financial predicament, posts to scans_daily should not be used as classified adverts.

As such, please remove the section where you mention wishing to sell your collection.

But this member has been a great member of SD and we can't support a personal creative venture? That seems rather un-community-like. It's not like he (she? I don't know) is WalMart or anything, or he's papering the site with floating ads. We can't make a distinction between the two? I think we could welcome a bit of self promotion if it's done tactfully, artfully, and you aren't pestering the community threads about it.

Speaking as a former mod and a current classroom teacher, the best rules for a community are ones that don't have "unless" in them.

auggie88 is indeed a valued member of the commmunity, as are all our members. There was nothing personal about the decision, and in no way reflects on our opinion of auggie88.

What is more important is thatScans_Daily is a community for posting comic pages, not selling them, or indeed selling anything.

There are many other online environments to make sales posts, all better suited for them than s_d.

Aside from members not wanting to be harassed (even slightly) by such things (which may discourage them from visiting), there may be some degree of implied (if not legal) liability if we become a forum for such things, since we are the ones facilitating the sales process. That is something we want to avoid, as it complicates matters needlessly and could sour the atmosphere if things were to not go smoothly (again, that's a general comment, not directed at anyone).

So in the interests of keeping S_D as smoothly running a community as we can make it, sales posts are not permitted.

Thanks, but it wasn't really a creative venture. I'm just trying to sell my comic collection before I move and was kinda hoping I could doing to people I know instead of having to use craigslist. It's not a collection of my work or anything, just the comics I currently own. I appreciate the backup, but it's fine. No worries!

The Cuckoos would be quintuplets when there were still five of them. Now they're down to three, I think triplets *is* the right word for the three living identical children.

Agreed, the fact they are clones is more or less irrelevant, they were quintuplets, they are still quintuplets, just that two of them have died.

Well, triplets is probably more tactful than, "The Cuckoo Quintuplets, Minus Two Dead Ones," or someone asking, "Well, where are the other two?" "Oh, they're dead."

If tact is paramount, I think it would be better then to refer to them as "The Stepford Sisters". They are not, nor have they ever been triplets, even if there are three of them now.

THe middle comic speaks to me so... I really do hate fringe logic that stories use right out where the sun don't sun, and expect people to just go with, like in Project X with its ending and I am watching Phelous's review of "Smiley" where the Proxy-girl seems like a paranoid like watching a murder and reporting it in is like robbing a bank and turning yourself in for it. Which is also why I like Venture Brothers, cause they make fun of that kind of logic and actually show consequences of following that logic.

You know, I noticed a few people who sided with Cyke but are now with Wolverine's school, I do wonder how much choice they got with that.
